| It's good you came back! How was that arthritis before you gained the 100#? I'll bet it gets better as you take off the weight, which puts quite a strain on you that you don't need. (Ever carry 2 suitcases for 10 min. at an airport?

| Hello i was just diagnosist with it, I have put on 100 in 8 yrs and according to my dr and th frame of my body 105 wont be to skinny that was what i was before i had my girls oldest being 7 youngest being 3. I was on atkins for a think 3 weeks and lost 15 pounds but them christmas came and i cheated and never could get back on it. I don't cary anything i drive mostly and deliver. I am starting my walking as soon as hubby gets home so i have someone with my girls. I am going to start out slow with the exercising just because i can hardly walk and i can only take advil since he wont give me anything for the pain because he says it wont do any good. | WELCOME back!! So happy to see you dedicated and ready to make it happen. When I started...I needed to lose 140 pounds. I felt so hopeless and doubted that this weight loss plan would be any different from the previous 100 that I'd already failed at. Well, something inside me and with the help of the ADBB, I got serious. I also had arthritis in my knees so bad that they swelled up every time I walked. I started walking, I started swimming, I started doing weights. I fought with myself all the time. Regardless of how many times my 'fat thoughts' told me to quit or stop...I just kept going. Thank goodness... I am now down 112 pounds. Losing weight didn't make all my problems go away, but it did make me stronger to cope with them. I am now happier than I have been in the last 30 years. You can do it. Walk. Exercise. Stay on plan. You can do it and we are all here to help. Start a journal and that way you'll have lots of people cheering you on daily!! BEST WISHES!!

| Well done, wanna_beThin. That's a really great start - plotting your goals like that, and I love the phrase in your sig. I'm curious why your Dr. would insist on that much walking - especially if it is too painful for you to follow through with his orders. Did he suggest losing weight and/or other types of exercise? How about alternative therapies such as nutritional support from certain supplements or foods, creams or physical treatments?

| I have no clue this was the first time i ever seen him, the other dr i was seeing wasn't much help and he wasn't giving me any answers to why i was all of a sudden feeling this way, body wise. So i wanted another opinion and my sister recamended him to me and she just loves him he is stregth forward and he explains in detail. So going from what my feet and my fingers looked like yesterday and my weight and how i was feeling when i told him how hard it is to get up from resting he diagnosted me with arthritis i can't remeber the name it started with a R i think. He also suggested me swimming but i wont put a swimsuit on not yet, i have such low self esteem right now that i just can't do it. He sugested an hour not fast pace just something to get me started. He also suggested an aerobric work out but to start slow seeing my joints do hurt. I told him that i was on atkins before and it did work and he told me that it wont work unless i exercise which is true, he was all for the diet since he was the one who put me on a low carb. He told me i have to lose the weight otherwise my condition will only get worse and i would find my self bedridden and i don't ever want that to happen. He also told me that since having kids my body hasn't gone back to the normal state meaning my metabolisum stayed thinking it was eating for two and now i have to change that and make it realize it isn't eating for two. He said that all the food i do eat even if it is healthy is being stored as fat and not the other way around, well thats what i got from what he said. Sorry i wasn't clear Angie Quote:

| Hi, again. Sounds to me like the R was probably for Rheumatoid. There's a lot of information on the web about it's tendencies ant treatments, risk factors etc. But R.A. needs other tests to validate such a diagnosis. If he didn't do bloodwork, it could be something else. There are also other Meds out there for treatment of symptoms. In any case, I believe in the Atkins diet's ability to improve your situation. | Well today is my frist day back on my road to a new life, For breakfast i am having 4 hard boiled eggs, snack 4 ounces of cheese and a side salad for lunch i am having a chicken salad with ranch dressing and for supper i am having pork chops and brocoli. Will need to add this to my fitday to see if i need more or less of something. I walked 2 miles yesterday, it hurt at the start but i had my pup with me to help me along. It took me 1 hour to walk with stops in between. Angie
