| Unfortunately, I woke up with a cold this morning, so what a start to this! BUT.. on the other hand, if I'm going to get "Induction Flu".. at least I won't know if it's that or the bug my kids gave me! I've been reading around the boards and found the thread about why this forum is so strict about "by the book". Let me tell you, I've been on those "other" boards and it's bizarre. People that I've been seeing for years, are still at the same place they were when I first saw them. The "There, there" posts after a cheat.. I dunno.. but I think that's why I've not been motivated. I can say.. "see, she's still working on her first ten lbs too". No more. I want a change, and I want it NOW. (Well, as fast as I can safely do this of course!) I'm working on my water right now. I think it's helping my sore throat too.. So far, I love what I'm seeing here. I think I recognize a few of you from those "other boards"! |

| You came to the right place, Laura. There is no better time than now to start living a healthier lifestyle.Happy belated Birthday. I extend my condolences and deepest sympathy for your losses and stressful times. Here at this board you can find a lot of company to do induction right along beside you, helping you with advice, recipes and good ol' fun. Family and friends can be diet saboteurs (I've had similar experiences to yours). Even though you aren't in boot camp, you can find what you need in the 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, and the many challenges to join and threads for different topics. Welcome back!

| Hi Laura Welcome to the board! Check out the before and after pics, they are a HUGE inspiration!! I too lost weight last year when I did Atkins, 3 stone (42lbs?). However my father passed away suddenly and I gained 2 stone (28lbs) back. Please accept my condolences for your loss. This forum is really supportive and everyone is really friendly. I'm on day 3 of Induction, definately feeling a little queasy! Gota keep at it though!! Keep going though, as you know, you've done it before, we can do it again!

| Hello Laura and WELCOME to the best place on earth for support, friends, information and recipes. I am sorry about the troubles you've had over the past year. I feel you girl about the move, I also moved from Michigan to South Carolina last year and it's rough I know. Don't worry about Boot Camp your first week, just get to know your way around the board and make some friends and then try out for the next session of Boot Camp. Good luck and if I can help in any way just let me know. |

| Welcome aboard, Laura! We are happy that you are here. Now, I won't say that we are the "there, there" crowd, but we are as supportive as you need us to be! Some of us might harass you about water or exercise or eating enough veggies, but know that this means that we truly love you!! Although Boot Camp was closed, check out the Exercise Challenges! It's a great way to be accountable for things like sit-ups, push-ups, walking, stair climbing. If you think of a challenge you would like to create, do it!!! I'm a sucker for the challenges!! Good luck, kiddo! We can't wait to see how you lose! Stacy
