Welcome, Sharron. You've come to the right place. I've found this to be a lifesaver. It's so motivating to have others encourage us along this journey.

First, you haven't said whether you've done this before. If not, please get a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 edition). You can get them very inexpensively at Amazon. Just follow the advertisement at the bottom of the page.

Read it a couple of times. Start at the beginning, and don't skip directly to the induction chapter. The more you understand about how this works, the easier it will be for you.

I love the food. Don't be afraid to try new things. Check out the recipe forums. These people are experts at the Atkins WOL and have been able to weed out the nasties! Don't be afraid to eat; calories aren't what this is about.

I also love fitday (www.fitday.com). I enter my food into it at least a day in advance, and then I know exactly what I plan to eat. I've heard it before, "Failing to plan is planning to fail." When you see what you can eat and still fall within the allowances of the plan, you'll be amazed. Just remember to stick to a 65% fat/ 5% carbs / 30% protein ratio (and fitday does this for you).

When I started using fitday, I was manually subtracting the fiber from the carb count at the bottom of the chart. If you look up by the pie graph, it shows total carbs and fiber there. it's much easier to do the calculation there.

Don't forget to drink your water, get some exercise, and you'll do great.

Best wisher.

Sharon...welcome. You have the magic ingredient to succeed...it is the desire to change. Once you have the desire and the tool (Atkins) to succeed, nothing can stop you. If you read the book (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution) (so you can understand the program and know first hand what to do)....EXERCISE, DRINK WATER, TAKE SUPPLEMENTS TO KEEP YOUR BODY WORKING AT ITS BEST CAPACITY, and stay connected with a strong support system (LIKE THE ADBB)...then you will be a succeess!!

We all want to see you meet your goals and continue to live a healthy happy life-style. BEST WISHES!!!
