Default Hello all!!!

Hi all. My name is Troy and I just turned 30 on June 15th. (Wake-up call) I was on this board almost 2 years ago when I had tried Atkins but had fizzeled out not long after. Recently, I started to go to an endocrinologist where I learned that my thyroid function was acting funky. When I went to be weighed I had made a passing comment to the nurse that I was probably at the 260 range. (Denial) Turns out I had to be quietly escorted to a special electronic scale at the far side of the building. To my dismay, I clocked in at 384 pounds. My response was I was shocked but not entirely surprised. That and my recent birthday got me into gear. Now I have tried many a diet and I had tried Atkins 3 times before. I knew that the diet worked but the headaches I received were brutal and almost crippling. The malaise made me irritable and just hating life....but I knew Atkins to be a proven system. My faith in it never faltered but my will did. I vowed to try again. Though I am dedicated to the Atkins eating system I needed some help. What I have done is incorporate an accupressure program into my endeavor. You all may have heard of something like this. The lady I go to is very kind and compassionate. She, herself, was a very big lady. She used the Atkins WOE and utilized accupressure to help with the "mental/ emotional" side of it. I have magnetic balls placed on my ears weekly. I started the Atkins WOE on 07/12/06. I had no headaches and no fatigue. I don't know what these balls are doing but they have made me feel relaxed and have enabled me to follow this diet. It has been amazing. I have followed the Atkins system religiously and am actually doing it!! I weighed in on 07/19/06 and to my pleasure clocked in at 373. 11 pounds lost in 1 week!!! I am eating regular meals and am not starving like I was before. I feel more energetic and have noticed subtle looseness in my clothes....and I mean subtle. I drink water (Hated it) like it is cola. I am chugging this stuff now. I am also consuming a natural diuretic and skin tightner known as Jamaica Hibiscus. (Amongst other similar names) You boil this dried flower until the water turns a deep red. You can consume it either warm or chilled. It has made me pee like a racehorse. In anycase, I am glad to be here. I have made Atkins a part of my life. Disclaimer: I am not a medical expert. Anyone who has questions about Jamaica or the accupressure, feel free to contact me. My focus on this board, however, is the effects of the Atkins WOE. Stay tuned!!

Haha!! I will have you know that the first and only site I considered looking up when I rejoined Atkins was this one. After almost 2 years, this site still made an impression. Good to be here!!
