| Hi Polly. Welcome to the ADBB. Congratulations on the new baby and for making the committment to change your life-style. You'll have more energy and be a better mom by feeling healthier and happier. My advice is to jump in, read the Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution, edition 2002...join the challenges and make friends with all the wonderful people here who are also on the same journey to get healthy and lose weight. Atkins really works. The secret is to plan for success. If you are always prepared, making sure you have the right foods available regardless of what is happening in your life, being committed to yourself and not allowing excuses to stop you, then it will soon become a habit. Everyone here is more than willing to help you and want to see you succeed. We are all in this together. If you ever need advice or motivation, you will find it here!! Best wishes!

| Welcome to ADBB, Polly! You have come to the right place - keep posting and checking things out everyday - it really helps! I am a lot like you - gained weight with the little one (i was already too heavy before i got pregnant) and giving up the cokes was one of the hardest things for me! Now my little one is two! I squeeze exercise in when she is napping, or i go on the treadmill while she plays. (I set up a "play room" in our basement and put the treadmill on one side and her stuff on the other.) Good luck to you - i look forward to getting to know you!

| I had an addiction to coke too... and I forced myself to start drinking diet coke, and I used to hate it... but if you manage to switch, then the regular coke will seem too sweet. I did this, but it was before I started this wol. Now I switched to water... and now diet coke seems too sweet... lol I didn't do any excersise before Atkins, but it's not that hard to find a way... just walk a little more, use more stairs... you don't have to join a gym and try to become an aerobics queen right away... lol... baby steps... after some time in atkins, you'll have a lot of energy, and when you see the results, you'll want to improve them, so incresing your excersise will not be hard at all |
