New to Posting and New Induction

Hello, I'm Laura. I've been a licensed family childcare provider for 16 years. My husband lost 50 lbs. on Atkins a year and 1/2 ago. I had lost 25 lbs. on Atkins last year, but had an issue with some medication I was taking and gained it all back.

I've been a lurker on the board, but feel it's in my best interest to post. You seem like a great and supportive community. I have really learned a lot here. One of the biggest things is reading the post on heart rate monitors. I enjoy exercising so much more now that I use one!

Anyway, it's day 6 of induction and I'm doing great. I had the usual headaches with the sugar withdrawals the first few days, but it's now gone away.

I'm looking forward to reading the posts and getting inspiration from all you wonderful people.

I too have just bought my first heart rate monitor and am going to be using it for the first time this evening.

Rich, you will be surprised how little you have to push yourself to reach your target heartrate! It really does make working out much more enjoyable! Thanks all for the welcome.

I have used the HRM's built in on the gym cv equipment. But never had one for when I do any sort of excercise outside so I am quite looking forward to it.

Welcome Laura,
I am new too, just been around 5 days now...This is my 5th day of induction, and I am starting to see the light. I have had the headaches and low energy, but I can feel things settling down.
