Smile Good morning!!

Hi -
I am new to the Atkins forum and I am very excited and motivated to get to my goal weight and stay there. Lord knows I've seen the scales go up and down enough for this lifetime! I'm grateful for all of your support and I know that I will get to my goal weight of 200lbs. I currently weigh 263. Today is day two of Atkins and so far so good. I turn 40 next year and my gift to myself is to finally be in control of my weight issues. I wanna say, "I'm 40 and looking sporty". This forum is great as it will sort of serve as a journal for me. Thanks again. Mario.

Welcome Mariob! We're excited to have you join us. I know only too well the frustration of being overweight! I was 285 when I first started and hoped that this program would work. Well, now after two years and 100+ pounds, I can truthfully tell you that it does work.

Make a plan for yourself on foods, menus, exercise routines and don't let anyone or anything stop you. You'll have 'issues' that arise and part of the key to success is having a plan to get you through them. Always make sure you plan ahead for yourself when you have family gatherings, invites to dinner, vacations and travelling away from your kitchen. Being prepared will save you more times than you can imagine.

Take your measurements every few weeks so you can see the inches dropping off. Their are many forums here in the ADBB that will give you solid information on dealing with all aspects of life, health and motivation to keep you going.

Best wishes. Stay active in the ADBB, make friends and participate in the challenges and posts. You aren't alone in your quest for health, we are all here doing it with you and excited to see you succeed!!

Welcome Mario!

Three pointers:

1. Read the book!
2. Drink your water!
3. Exercise!

As long as you do the above three, you should see weight loss! Good luck!

Hey Mariob,
Welcome, I can relate to your motivations I will be turning 50 in 7 months and I too want to be in control of my weight issues. I need to loose 80lbs. I think more importantly tho, I want to be in control like you, of my weight and exercise and quality of life. I have a great deal of power to make that happen in my life, just as you do and we use our power to turn ourselves to this way of life and apply it's principals to each day.

I love what was mentioned about, read the book, drink the water, do the exercise.
All of these will truly add to the quality of your life and you will start to feel so good about what you are adding, that you might not miss what you are dropping.
I read in the DANDR book about the sugar symptoms on page 131 yesterday and I was so impressed how many of those symptoms I no longer am dealing with, and it's only day 13 for me on induction.
You have the power to choose an amazing journey into good things and quality, keep it up and you will shine on your 40th...
Jess
