Smile Hello Atkineers

Well, I suppose I should start at the beginning here. I am not new to Atkins, I'm just picking up where I left off nearly ten years ago. My weight back than was about 190....now 250. So I suppose I've let myself go. From then till now I've had three kids and have moved several times. For a while I just stopped carring. I thought it was too hard, I thought I could never tighten up this sagging skin, I thought I would suffer too much. I suppose you could say I stopped believing in my self and spiced it up with a little procrastination. So my goals are one day at a time right now. I just want to do good on this today because I need some inspiration for tomorrow. For some reason today I have all my willpower. I haven't felt this confident in a while. I have to say, a large part of it is due to reading all the inspirational posts here. So thank you all, for every pound you loose, you keep the momentum going for people like me.

Welcome and congratulations for taking control and making the decision to get healthier and lose weight.

Adding exercise into your daily routine will boost your self-esteem to make you feel good and help tighten the skin, plus it helps tighten and tone muscles. Drinking lots of water will help the elasticity of your skin and over time you will see results.

Utilizing the ADBB and its resources is a great way to gain motivation, friendships and knowledge on doing the WOE. You don't have to do this alone, we are all doing it and sharing with each other. Make a journal to keep track of your weaknesses and accomplishments. Make sure you take your measurements so you can see the inches that you lose and it will keep you motivated. There is a journal forum for you to meet people and get comments as well as keeping yourself inspired to meet your goals. Joining challenges also encourages you to meet your goals.

Best wishes. If you have any questions or concerns just ask. This board is a great source of support and motivation!

Thank you,

I feel good. I have my water bottle here and am contemplating getting back to the gym. I have an active membership with Curves that I've ignored for months....I've got to get back to that. You all look fantastic.

Welcome, Anjelina, from a fellow procrastinator! I hope you're still feeling strong and motivated today. Just bite the bullet for a few more days and I promise you, it will suddenly get so much easier. Along with the pounds, your cravings will melt away. I would have never believed it was true, but amazingly, it is.

I agree -- reading about other people's progress -- and challenges -- is so motivating. And people here really go out of their way to encourage you and make you feel welcome.

Good luck to you. You can do this!

Take care!

* Run the ING Georgia Half Marathon in less than 3 hours.
* Exercise 4 times a week.
* Most important: Take back control and silence the carb roar.

This clean induction is hard! I haven't had coffee in more than 24 hours and I'm so shaky. I haven't noticed the flu yet. I 'm glad because I'm grouchy enough without my coffee. Last night I had the most aweful caffeine withdrawl headache.

I feel good today! I am noticing a difference already. Especially in the way I feel about myself, just knowing I'm doing this really great life long project for myself. I picked up the vitamins I need today and my husband agreed to take some pictures of me tonite so I can post them up. <img> Thank you for all your support. It means a lot to me. Support for most people is a huge factor in success or failure during a life changing diet plan.

I went to Walmart today....oh man. Temptation. I remember all the things that used to end up in my cart. This being my second day on this plan, I am sooooo craving some carb and sugar coated carb yummy. I made it though, I made it all the way through the store with out grabbing even the tiniest morsel of sweets. If I never had to go into a grocery store again, I wouldn't. It's torture for me right now. I can't wait till these cravings go away.

You know, I did good yesterday and you know why? I wasn't hungry. I thought about food, I thought about it a lot, but there was no hunger there to motivate me to eat anything off the induction. Thank god!

I did so good today! I feel good as well. I am drinking half my weight in water ounces and I am peeing every two minutes. I was reasearching how much water a person can drink a day maximum and found out from a medical journal that the human body can safely process up to four gallons of water a day if taken slowly over the course of 24hrs. This is good to know. I don't know anyone who can or would drink that much water. But for those of us out there (me included) who skip drinking as much water as they should because they are afraid of drinking too much (which is just an excuse), we now have no excuse. Just don't try drinking 4 gallons all at once...you'll end up pretty sick.
