Talking Losing that pregnancy weight

Hi everyone!

First of all I want to say how wonderful ADBB is!
When I began to feel down about dieting and how much weight I had gained I began searching online for anything to inspire me. I was hesitant starting the Atkins diet again because I felt like no one was doing it anymore and felt kind of discouraged by it. This website changed all that just a few days ago for me. I began the Atkins diet before coming along this site, but wasn't really into it hardcore. I wasn't eating right or excercising. Once I began reading the different forums and saw how many people out there are using the same approach to weight loss as I was, I suddenly became hopeful and encouraged. Ever since, I have got back on track and it feels so good. I really feel like this web site was what I really needed to get me going to a better lifestyle.

I recently gave birth to a precious baby boy, Liam Elsworth. Prior to my pregnancy I was on the Atkins diet ~maintenance. I had lost 30lbs and reached my goal weight. I was thinner than I ever was and extremely happy with a ton of energy and felt so healthy. I stopped the Atkins diet maintenance when I became pregnant for fear that 1. I would be denying my baby of nutrients, and 2. I wanted to live up my pregnancy. I ended up gaining 75lbs!!! Part of it was due to my eating habits, but the other part was because I was on bed rest for pregnancy induced toxemia. Since having Liam and starting Atkins again, I feel wonderful. I now remember how easy it was to lose the weight and look forward to accomplishing my goals.

~Wish me luck
~*Amber

Don't ever give up, I'm 50 years old and just starting over on Atkins. I have a long way to go but, never give up and never surrender.

Amby, that colour you have written in is extremely difficult to read.

But welcome to the board.

Hi Amber,

I'm also in 'lose that pregnancy weight' mode. Are you nursing? There's a good section on this board about doing Atkins while nursing (and pregnant - but I don't need that party any more).

I'm glad you found us - this is a great support system here.

How old is your little one? (I've got 3 total - a 7 year old, a 21 month old and a 3 month old).

Hi Amby! Congratulations on the birth of your son. Glad to have you on the board. Do you have a copy of the DANDR book? You don't say when the last time you ate this way was, but I wanted to be sure you have all the latest information!
