| Hello Deb, I am Pamela. Out of curiosity, what is the V, or checkmark, in front of yours and some others names? Anyway, it is nice to meet you. I am new here today as well and will be posting often. I wanted to tell you that I know you will make it, because you are armed with understanding. I am going to make it too. I have to. | welcopme to ADBB and back to Atkins. we have an emotional eaters forum you casn check postings in and post some yorself for some support of thast issue of your Atkins too. So what you doing for your mandatory exercise part of your Atkions? come check out all the exercise chasllenges and pick some you like for added motivation and fun doing that part of Atkins. Doing Atkins correctly with all the phases gives us good practice for living the rest of our lives as goalies.

| Hi Deb! Welcome to the board. Do you have a copy of the 2002 Edition of DANDR? It's really important that you have a thorough understanding of how this way of eating works. Please read around the induction forum for additional information! This is not a diet, rather it's a lifestyle change. Once you get going, you will see how easy it is to eat healthy, eat lots and lose weight too! I wish you all the success in the world!

| Thanks sillygirl and 2big4mysize....your pointers are invaluable and I will check out the additional forums suggested. As for exercise, when I've been committed and 'on track' I do anywhere between 1 - 2 hours of cyclying/ walking a day....sometimes even more. But then there is the times I am not so committed where I won't go anywhere near a bike or walking track/ treadmill. Again it has been an all or nothing thing with me. As for the copy of the book I have, I think it is either printed in 2002 or 2004, I will see tonight (I left it at home today and I'm at work right now....its 9.35am here) and let you know. I have to admit that I am nervous about the beginning because I get really strong cravings and negative thoughts that chip away at me at times. The struggle for me is in trying to take each day and each weigh result as it comes rather than predicting/ calculating and expecting certain results by certain 'deadlines' my frustration and mind set. This time I want to focus on the eating 100% but also the self-talk that has in the past set me up to fail.... I think I'm writing too much so I'll end here but before I do I just want to say thank you for this bulletin board....it gives so much strenth and is like a lifeline to many.....I look forward to it being my lifeline too....especially through the hardest times. God bless you all and I can't wait to get to know you more and more... Love Deb x |
