Default New to this post! Vitamin C question

Hi Everyone, I am new to this post. I have tried atkins in the past but I wasn't doing it right and I didn't succeed at it. Now after reading some of the book, I plan to finish it soon, I am more aware of how the diet works. I am also extremely encouraged by the success stories that I have read. I read in the book that if you feel constipated, taking vitamin C is good. However, does anyone know if there are hidden carbs in Vitamin C? I use a powder from Trader Joe's, but it doesn't have a list of the carbs. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd have thought it would depend on which brand you take... there could be carby fillers in some. Can't advise you as I live in Europe and we have different brands here.

If you're constipated why not try a tablespoon or so of ground (it has to be ground) flax seed. This is induction legal if you don't overdo it and if taken for constipation. Do a search and you'll find lots of ways to use it. (in salads, microwave flax crackers... etc.)

Welcome to ADBB and happy low carbing!

adding fiber to your DIET per rule 12 chapter 11 is even better for constipation. you can add flaxseed psyillium husks ( the stuff in metimucil) and/or wheat bran starting with 1tablespoon and using more if needed. once you get un constipated you keep the fiber as part of your Atkins. Aslo try to pick higher fiber veggies from the acceptable veggies lists 3 cups of lettuce will not fix consitpation but some jicama, broccoli etc can.

look on your ingredients and see if it is sweetner free.
