| Thanks guys and gals for the support, once again! I'm on day 7 of induction and cannot quite believe how easy its been and more importantly how great I feel. I weighed myself - couldn't help it! - and I'm down 4 lbs so far, so am really psyched about that in 1 week. I had hoped to loose 8lbs - 10lbs in induction, so hopefully I'm on track. I also got the ketosis strips and was delighted today to see that they are in purple. DBF has started induction on Saturday, so although a few days behind me, its great having a partner in crime. Cooking sunday lunch today was so much easier when I didnt have to make potatos (my downfall) and not eat any! As for the bars - they're history! Thanks for all the tips everyone. When I read the actual list of nutrinets in each bar, I cannot believe that they are selling them as only 2 carbs net. Either ways, I'd rather do without than ruin my chances. I have one challenge coming my way - I am going to a charity lunch to one of the countries leading restaurants - its going to be course after course of probably carb loaded food. I'm determined though to avoid them, and only eat the food that I can. |

I would advise you to eat a legal snack before you go to that event so you're semi-full. Chances are there will be something you can eat when the others do, but if the choices are slim and you've had a snack, you're good to go! LOVE that DBF has joined you. The support is ideal!

| That's awesome that DBF is on induction, too! That will make things a lot easier (cooking wise) and it will be nice to have someone so close to you for support!

| Good luck at the "event". I go to a lot of lunch meetings and events too. My first trek out to one after I started induction was a bit scary...but it was over a week into induction and I had no desire or craving for carbs. I ate my meat and veggies and passed on the bread and dessert. I was so amazed at myself, I never thought I could ever turn down free food...but I did. Now since then it has been a cinch because I know I am capable of it. I suspect that having the support of this BB helped too. I was just a lurker at that time, but it was still encouragement. So, here's to you and I'm rooting for you on that day!! Think of me when you get there and then let me know how it went! |

| Best wishes at that lunch, I'm sure you'll do great. You've gotten some great advice so far, and just remember how good you feel! It's so wonderful that your DBF is with you, and backing you. You're one lucky lady to have such a great man!

| Newbie, I went to one of "those" meetings today with tons of meeting junk food...candy, crackers and cheese, fruit, cookies...all kinds of soda and ofcourse the proverbial coffee pot with the leaded stuff and all that god awful powdered creamer (yuk!). I didn't even notice all of it till I was getting ready to leave and realized that everyone had been snacking and i didn't even notice the food!!!! Me not notice food???? Wow, i love this WOE and WOL. It has made me a totally different person. I actually think well of myself these days. I used to do a lot of negative self talk especially around food (overeating). Now i am doing a lot of pretty nice self talk. And i deserve it, cuz i am doing great. I just hope this bubble doesn't burst!!!! I later thought of you and your event that's coming up. Stay strong and think of me and let me know okay? I want to be sure my positive vibes traveled out to you! |

| Emon - well done! You're inspiring me to stay strong for my event on Thursday! Its a lunch with lots of good wine as well - and I have to admit I love a good glass of red but I'm going to drive (and I'd rather chew my arm off than drink and drive!) so that will stop me being tempted to have a glass of wine. I'm going to eat a good Atkins friendly breakfast, so that I've no excuse to eat non atkin friendly foods. I'm on Day 10 of induction and so far, no cheats and I feel like I'm in the 'zone!' I'm determined to do this......... |

| I thought I'd post an update. I attended my big lunch event today. It was beautiful - champagne flowing, fabulous breads & desserts...... and I'm happy to report that on Day 10 of induction - I'm still 'clean'!!! I avoided all temptation and chose from the menu only what I can eat. It really helped that my best friend was with me - who is really supportive. She never once tried to tempt me to drink or eat any 'off' foods. That helped! Also - so far I'm 5lbs down so far (50lbs in total to loose) and so excited about this - 6 inches off my body! Thanks everyone again for all your words of support! |

| Yeah for you...you've done it once and feel really good about yourself....events, bring 'em on, you are on your way..who needs all those carbs, a little cheese, that'll due. I'm with you on the wine. i won't drink and drive either. I would say the only thing i really miss is a nice glass of Shiraz or Merlot. I figure when I get to my goal weight, I might figure in a glass once or twice a week. We'll see. |
