| Ova, thanks for sharing your story! I think all of us here have the same issue--we can't stop at one piece of bread, or one piece of candy, or just a little bit of this carb or that carb. It's like an addiction. I am a 2nd-timer, too. I did Atkins a few years ago, but I did it the WRONG way. I bent rules and broke rules and made my own rules! I fell off the wagon and gained it all back and then some. So this time I am doing it by the book, no excuses! The thing that made the difference is that I read Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, cover to cover, and re-read it and re-read it so I understood how the plan worked, what foods I was allowed, and what caused me to be so fat in the first place. If you haven't read the book, it's the first thing you should do! I wish I would have done it the first time--I wouldn't have been re-starting with 90lb. to lose. This is a great board! Check out the stickies, read through posts, check out the recipes. Saturday is a slow night, so I'm sure more people will be stopping through tomorrow and Monday morning. Best of success, Ova!

| Hi Ova, welcome to the board! The thing about eating this way is that it becomes a part of your general lifestyle. It's great that you've decided enough is enough before it got out of hand, that's a great first step! I wish you much success.

| Ova, Your story sounds very familiar to me. I've been there too. I'm determined this time to get to goal. Even if I get stuck on a plateau for a period of time, if I come here, I will get support and be reminded that it's temporary. That continuing to eat right will get me past this, and that caving to a craving is NOT going to make me feel better. I KNOW this. (I know this, I know this, I know this) I've been hung up at the 200 a couple of times now. But we can do this! |

| Hello Ovadiva... welcome to the ADBB! Yes, yours is a familiar story to many of us. But now you've decided to join us here, hopefully we'll be able to enthuse you and give you that extra inspiration it takes to stay the course and then maintain. There's plenty going on around the board. Take a roam and see. Actually, as you are new you might like to take on our brand new challenge: Jimmie's "No Scale Challenge". It would be great if you were to put the scale away for a couple of weeks, and then see how you've gotten on. You could measure too, beforehand, as measurements are a better indication of true weight loss than the scale. Here's the link to the challenge: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=39701 (Weigh? No Way! Challenge #2 ~ A Board Wide Challenge) Here's wishing you great success with your journey to better health!
