| Hi Sonya. So happy to have you join us. This is definitely a place to get encouragment to make it happen. I don't think I could have done it alone, but with all the support and friends to share my journey with, has made it easier. Just knowing you aren't alone and have forums to answer your questions, and advice from others who have done it, is a big plus. Jump in and get active with the journals, challenges and make a plan to succeed. I wish you the best of luck, I know you can do it. We are all here cheering you on!

| For the last week, I have given up carbs but I don't have the book and I didn't know that I was supposed to follow the menu for induction...I am going to get the book but in the process I am trying to eat at least 4 small meals a day and to not eat any carbs. I think I am off to a good start with giving up sugar and sweet. (I am - correction was a junk food junkie) Thank you for the support. |

| Welcome to the board! I am from the Detroit area as well. Your 100 lb weight loss goal is a realistic goal. But you should remember to set mini goals for yourself. Reaching mini-goals can be very inspirational. Today for the first time since I can't remember, my scale was under 300 lbs. That was a mini goal for me. I'm sure no one wants to be 298 lbs like me, but to reach that goal, heck, I am in such a good mood today. I feel like if I can do that, then anything is possible. Also, measure yourself. You can sometimes lose inches and not lose weight. Sometimes seeing the ruler smaller helps when the needle on the scale doesn't. I guess all this can be summed up if you just go out and buy the book. That is a key factor in my success thus far, oh yeah, and WATER WATER WATER! Good luck and welcome to the board.

| Hi Sonya! Welcome, I am new to the board as well, I just finished my 2 week cheat free induction, and I know you can do it too! I am aiming for a 100 lbs loss as well, I am close to your weight , but much much shorter!!! ( How's the weather up there, anyways?!) hehe. Glad to see you are nearby, I am in Toledo. I have kept a journal so far of my journey, feel free to check it out and comment, I love comments! LOL ( Not to mention I need readers to keep me acountable) Pick up the book, and read read read, visit the boards often and believe in yourself! You can do it girl!
