Cool new atkineer...a bit depressed though

Hi I'm new on this board ..I have started atkins on Jan 6 and lost in 2 weeks 6 kg(about 13lb) .
Starting weight 86kg (189.5lb) andd planning to reach 66kg(145lb)
I was doing what i thought was 20 carbs per day but then everything halted .I dropped to 15 carbs and practically starved myself ...no change...

I checked the replies on this subject and thought that maybe i'm eating too little or need to add fat...today i went on the scale and i've gained a pound maybe.
I'm still in induction since the weight loss halted.

So today i'm starting on the fitday journaling any advice?
what are the recommended fat/carb/protein? and how many calories per day?

I've also been doing almost everday treadmill fast walking with elevation..

Welcome to the board! I'm glad to see you use fitday, it's a great tool. Your protein should be at 30% for the rest of your life! The fat around 65% and 5% carb during induction. The fat/carb percentages will change as you move up the rungs.

Read around the FAQ section of the board, there's useful information there about this.

Also check this out: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/
if you do some reading around that site it will become clear to you. Calories don't matter so much in thie WOE, but if you eat too many you won't lose, and if you eat too little you will be in starvation mode. This site will tell you what you need to eat to maintain your current weight if you did absolutely nothing all day, and how many you need to lose.

I can't lose when I starve myself. It doesn't work... I mean, I did for a little, but then I upped my calories to a more reasonable level and that's when I started losing again.

Maybe post a couple day's worth of your menus to have people review? If you're just starting the fitday today, but you remember what you ate yesterday and the day before, you could get a faster result from just asking here...

thanks for the prompt replies..actually i have all the menu from when i started...first i wasn't counting calories then i upped my intake and thought i was eating 1200 turned out i was eating 1600 .so i was eating yoo little or too much!

my bmr is at 1575 i just checked...Fitday opened my eyes on things i wasn't counting like the carbs in eggs and lemon juice ...and the oil i fry my meat in..

so should i eat around 1400 or 1200 ? .i'm sitting now trying to figure out what to eat for dinner..thinking of cheese and cucumber and tomatoes ..but i need more fat hmmm

Usually, if you eat just above your BMR, that's a good place - but don't stress over the calories much - if you eat when you are hungry and maintain your carb level, you should be fine. You lost a LARGE percentage of the weight you want to lose during induction (WAY TO GO!), so it is perfectly normal that your body will slow down and "catch up" so to speak. Once that happens, you will start losing again. And fitday is a great way to keep up with it all. Best wishes for continued success!!

Don't stress about wt loss stalling a bit. I lost 8 pounds in the first 2 wks, stalled and lost nothing for the next 2 weeks. It is not a race. I ended up losing over 100 pounds but it didn't happen at a rate of 8 pounds every 2 weeks. Sometimes I would whoosh 5 pounds, sometimes stay the same for 2-3 wks. It is just a persistence game. Stay on real foods, watch your carbs and do it by the book, it will pay off...you didn't gain the weight in a month, don't plan on losing it in a month!
