Default Hello from the Deep South... I'm new and Ready To Lose!

My name is Talli.... I started Atkins almost 2 months ago... the first week, I lost 5 lbs... then.. last week.. I noticed I had actually gained 10 lbs... I was exercising faithfully everyday, until I got a bug... I have an extremely stressful job as a legal assistant for an attorney.. I'm assuming this will most likely have a lot of contribution to my weight gain... I breezed through induction... but I feel that perhaps nuts and peanut butter to help me w/ my Hypoglycemia has been my downfall... so... I took a week off... ate whatever I wanted.. with the Goal of starting Induction again today.. this is a lifestyle for me... I don't want to be a Diabetic like others in my family... I need to lose about 40-45 lbs.. my goal is to look smokin poolside in the back yard by spring.. I'm 5' 2.5".. and lbs will not be mentioned... due to the fact that I was anorexic/bulimic in my late teens .. so the scale is a HUGE emotional roller coaster ride for me... I'm a 12-14 in pant size.. my goal is to be an 8.. I feel this is achievable.. and I have really enjoyed lurking to read the camaraderie that you all have for each other.. so.. I thought, to really achieve this goal.. I need to tell someone.. and you all are it!!!

Hi Talli/Johnsnaenae. Glad to have you join us. In the beginnning, the scale can be your worst enemy. I'd recommend you take your measurements and see the inches melting off as you continue on the WOE and exercise routine. My weight has always fluctuated...whereas taking measurements has kept me going.

You'll find lots of information, challenges, stories/photos and warm caring people here who will share their journey and help you plan for success. Best wishes....keep us posted on your progress.

Hi Talli,
welcome to this great board. I too have many issues with the scale. I have not weighed myself since I started this WOE on Dec. 27th. I too am just going on how clothes fit. I will be weighing myself Feb.12th when I join my gym's 'Lose to Win' weight loss competition. I am already stressing about it. If it doesnt read what i 'think' it should read I know I am going to be really dissapointed. But I guess its all part of the process.

You have already received so much terrific advice! Just stick with it and avoid the scale for a while. In no time you will start seeing a big difference.
