| Thanks for all the encouraging responses! I hate to admit this, but it has been relatively easy. I've had to work hard at it, but just taking things day by day has been the secret to my success so far. In the beginning I wasn't as strict but I still lost about 15 pounds after about 3 weeks, probably some water weight too. Then I just stopped losing all at once and that forced me to get a little more serious. Fitday was huge for me. I don't know how it would be possible without it. I also gave up beer and wine about 2 and a half weeks ago. That made a big difference on many fronts. I was never a very heavy drinker, but I would drink almost every day. This made a world of difference on many fronts and I don't miss it at all. I also fixed a problem when I discovered that my chewing gum had 2g of sugar in addition to aspartame. I was chewing about 6 pieces per day. It was not clear on the label, but was on the website. If you do a fitday account, make sure to enter every single last thing that you put into your mouth. You just never know when or where hidden sugars will turn up. Anyway, I'm glad to be part of the boards finally after lurking on here for so long. thanks, dennis
