| Hi quekjian, I am basically in the same boat as you are. I will be 40 my b'day and I have lost a lot of weight on atkins before. My trouble was like yours I was doing it alone with no support, the food would get boring because I had no input on how to switch it up with different recipes like I do now. This is an AWESOME board and I absolutely love it, thanks to everyone and all the supporting members for your help!! I started back because health problems made me realize the weight had to come off, I had kind of given up on the looking good part. What I realize now is if your healthy you will look good!! What I meant by that is I really wasn't motivated to do this because I wanted to get in a bikini again, but hey if I get to that point and I can wear a bikini again I will Last edited by Brenda80-2lose; March 18th, 2007 at 06:27 PM. |

| Welcome Guekjian! Glad to have you join us here. You'll find this an awesome place for support and inspiration. Lots going on: journals, exercise challenges, recipes, chit chat, health forums... and even a womens' forum for those queries that would bore the fellas or for when the fellas bore us!!!! (they have their own mens' forum where they do... whatever it is they do). You've done Atkins before so you know it works... why not hop over to the Second Time Around Forum, where everyone has lost their way at least once, but then found it again, many going on to reach goal. There's plenty of empathy and good advice to be had there. Keep us posted on your progress!

| Hello quekjian and Brenda! It's wonderful to meet you both!! What a great way to start out a week. I love coming here on Mondays and meeting all the newly deterimined folks like yourself! My name is Scooter, I have been on the plan for almost a year and I've lost 72 pounds....this way of life works!! Here are a few little tools to help you both: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=41903 (Sign up for 6WEC#34 here) is another exercise challenge starting up!! We had a really fun one last week with lots of people involved. It's never a bad thing to add an exercise regime to assist with getting things moving in the right direction. Brenda mentioned www.fitday.com (thank you!) a really nice site to track everything you eat, carbs, calories, protein, etc. Nice reports, but I especially love that weight loss report...you watch the line graph go high to low....nice! Oh yes it is a free online service! http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html is another recipe site with lots of excellent recipes!! Hope you set yourself some nice goals, we would love to have you both say hello in the Second Time Around Club (forum) and drop a line. There are lots of people who have 'slipped up' so to speak (your faithful host as well!) and it's a great place to come when you're feeling a bit tempted or if you just need a shoulder to lean on! We're here to help!! Best of luck and don't be a stranger. |
