Red face Still thinking about it...

Well I've been looking at the forums. Especially all the before and after pics. I'm still thinking about doing atkins. I don't know why I am holding back, I guess mostly because everyone I talk to says it is so bad for you. I actually disagree with that. It looks like it works wonderfully with a lot of hard work of course. I really need to lose weight. I'm not comfortable with even looking in the mirror anymore. I get pretty disgusted with myself. I have a friend that comes over to work out twice a week but it's just not enough. I've been having a lot of back pain lately and the doctors suggest a breast reduction but I don't know if I'm ready for that. I try working out but it just makes my back hurt even worse and sometimes it's very uncomfortable because of the size of my chest. I eventually think I will get a reduction but first I want to see if I can lose the weight on my own to see if that helps enough to not have to get the reduction.

I'm just worried I will have a hard time sticking to the atkins WOL because my husband loves eating out. He's a thin man and doesn't have the metabolism problems that I do. He's very supportive but if I get that urge to be bad I'm worried he won't stop me... but encourage me to be bad. I know it shouldn't be up to him to do that but I still need the help.

You really should do this. I am the only one in my family doing this also, but it is the easyist diet I have ever done. I lost 11 lbs in 8 days! I don't feel very hungry on this diet, and I have lost all of my cravings. You will love this. Just give it a try. It is not hard going out to eat either. There are lots of things that you can eat.

Wow. 11lbs in 8 days is amazing. I want to lose about 60lbs. Looking at all the before and after photos really encourage me. I'm just worried about my will power. How do you manage to be the only one on the diet?

It is really not hard because I have so many things that I can eat that all I do for my kids is add a carb for dinner. Like I will make chicken and a veggie and then add a carb for them. Or sometimes I'll make them all the same thing and then make myself something different.

You seriously loose your cravings and longing for carbs and sugar it is wonderfull. I have tried every other diet and I can not stay on them, I cheated every time. This is the only diet that works for me because I am not hungry and I don't crave sugar and carbs. And the quick weightloss makes it even better!

I have a lot more to lose, but I am going to do it. I seriously have NO will power, but something is different about this diet.

I am done making excuses and I am going to have results!!!!! Join me!

chaotic, being on Atkins has made me healthier, stronger, and happier than I've ever been before! I have never eaten better! I eat lots of veggies everyday, whole unprocessed foods, and foods that are rich and pleasing to the palate.

I feel like I have FINALLY learned how to eat correctly. Rather than eating when upset, bored, angry, happy or for any other reason, I eat when I'm hungry. I know how to recognize hunger, and I know how to stop when I'm satisfied. For me, sugar was like a drug. I couldn't eat just 1 cookie--I wouldn't stop until I'd eaten 2 or 3 dozen. To be rid of that torture and addiction is priceless.

Atkins is very healthy--there are many members on here who have the numbers to prove it! Improved cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar can all be yours if you follow the Atkins plan. As far as eating out, there are LOTS of options available. When I go out, I eat steak, prawns, chicken, salads, omelets, fruit, and veggies. I have worked my way through all 9 rungs of OWL and have added in a TON of variety to my diet. It's really important that if you decide to do Atkins, you do it the right way, the way it's designed to be followed. Many people think Atkins is ONLY induction, but that's only the first 2 weeks! Because I've done OWL I have figured out what foods I can eat and which ones I can't tolerate.

I am a huge supporter and fan of the Atkins WOL. It works!

Well, you guys have convinced me to go ahead and try it out. You all look great. I'm really gonna need some support and ideas on what to eat. I already printed the induction foods. I'm really really picky. I really hate cooked veggies so I guess I can stick to the raw ones. I do love asparagus but I see you can't have too much during induction. Does that change after induction? I sure hope so. I guess I'll start monday so I have time to go grocery shopping.

Good...welcome aboard.

I look forward to seeing your posts and your progress! You can do it!

Raw spinach is my favorite! I dont like to many cooked veggies either. The only one i really love is cooked cabbage. Now only if there was Atkin's friendly cornbread....lol! Can you tell i'm a southern girl?
