| Sallyseachange.. a typical day for me is as follows: Bfast: Atkins Bar (max 3 net cabs) cup of coffe with 2 splenda & 2 tbsp sugar free french vanilla creamer (4 carbs) Mid-morning: 2 fried eggs, 4 slices bacon, 1 slice muenster cheese (coffee) Lunch: 4 -5 slices deli meat & atkins shake occasion salad mid-day: coffee evening: either steak, chicken, pork - occasional broccoli My body fat is at 27% was 31% 60 lbs ago. Am I not losing enough fat? I do reistance training 2 - 3 x's a week and cardio at least 3x's. I keep being told to increase cardio, but does it really come down to that??? Lola 214/155/140 |

| Lyssie, are u suggesting I UP my carbs? I'm feeling a slight panic attack coming over me! I'm so neurotic about this now, that people are starting to worry!! lol so perhaps if I increase veggies & salad? both? one or the other? wow, who'd a thunk I'd be scared of carbs! Lola 214/155/140 |

| If I were you, I would cut out the Atkins Bar and Shake (they're known to stall people), and the french vanilla creamer (switch to heavy cream). I would also add my veggies in. Exercise is non-negotiable and cardio will help to break a stall, so yeah, it can come down to that as to whether you stay the same or lose.

| Yes, that's what I'm saying. In DANDR, you're supposed to have 2 cups of salad veggies & 1 cup other induction friendly veggies to make up your carb counts *on induction*. The first rung is to add more veggies, which you should be doing at some point so you can move up all the rungs to make this a way of life, and something you can stick with forever instead of yo-yoing.

| Lyssie, for months now I've been in denial about those 2 things.. my favorite foods since being on Atkins, bars and coffee (french vanilla creamer).. boo - hoo... for real! but I really needed an Atkins veteran to tell me so. The bars have been my comfort on so many levels, but if I'm ever to reach my goal, I know I need to give them up for a little while. You may think I'm sick, but what a sad day it is for me! I mean, I didn't have one today and I'm alive..lol...but those really got me through. Any other sweet tooth/anxiety suggestions? I have sf jello and whipped cream, perhaps I'll change the treat from breakfast to late evening snack. Lola 214/155/140 |

| I didn't say cut the coffee, I mean, if you're mad stalling, you really *should* but I drink it, so that would be hippocritical. Sugar-free jello (unless made with splenda) should be off-limits too (some people stall, some people don't). There are recipes to make bars that are friendly. You can make little treats, like there are cheesecake recipes, and I do a quickie pumpking thing in the microwave... if you want chocolate, take an ounce of cream cheese, nuke a couple seconds 'til it's soft, add a packet of splenda (or half, depending), and some unsweetened cocoa powder.. I understand completely - I used to have a shake every day for breakfast umm, the second time around on this WoL. It was a lot faster, and sweeter, for breakfast.. then again, I've been on the wagon this time around for much longer than that time.

| Lola... Lyssie's absolutely right... I think that if you want to start losing again you should certainly cut out the bars and shakes (and not just for a day's trial... sometimes it takes a fair while for weight loss to start up again). I know it's really hard to cut out one's treats (I just cut out my beloved cheese and glass of wine in the evenings after Christmas indulgences - all legal but a little too much for too long - and it took a lot of willpower at first. Well, it took six weeks, but eventually I lost the couple of lbs I'd re-gained)... anyway, hard though it is, you'll find it's fine after a few days. As you've only got 14/16 lbs left to lose, I strongly urge you to start finding your CCLL in OWL. It takes time to move up the rungs and it's important for future maintenance. Don't cut back on veggies... these are so important. You need those vits and mins and they won't hinder your weight loss if you eat them in the correct quantities.

Maybe you want to read my reply to another new member (Colirina), the two of you sound quite similar to me in a way: Hello, I'm Just started I am all new on this aswell but of all I have read of you by now, I'd say, you are on a diet but it isn't Atkins... Well, we are here to help each other, so this will work for you in the end! Stargirl |

I can't wait to try the coco 'n cream cheese! I had already been experimenting in the warm cream cheese (and an occasional drop of sugar free syrup!) and it was very satisfying. Unbelievable how talking (typing) things out really help put things into perspective!! THANK YOU! Lola 214/155/140 |
