Wow, what a great welcome from all of you! Thank you so much. Yes, Zihuatenejo is indeed the place Morgan Freeman's character wanted to retire to in Shawshank. It's funny that I never thought I would actually go there when I saw that movie. It is a great place, but low carb eating is a little challenging in Mexico . Thanks again for the wonderful welcome!

Welcome, Matt! And thanks for the heads up on the book. I saw that at WallyWorld the other day and was tempted to get it. Sure shootin', it would have wound up in the thrift sale.

It's been great here. One of my issues is no imagination for meals. There's a lot of them here and in Linda's Low-Carb meal site. Finally a nice variety to pick from.

A lot of support here, too. You'll love it!

Welcome, Matt! This board is absolutely the best, and the folks here are positive and helpful!!

I read the "You on a Diet" book too, and really did not see how anyone with a life could have time to constantly shop for and cook that food---or how the results could be lasting (lotta carbs), but hey, what ever works for others is ok by me! BUT, having said that, I also really enjoyed the detailed medical chapters on how your body metabolizes and stores fat/food. It was very helpful in that regard, and I learned many new tidbits. But I sure would try to get it cheap at a yard sale or used book store. Anyway, welcome to your own self and best wishes. Atkins so totally works--sometimes at breakneck speed and sometimes slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly----or in between. But give it time and it WORKS!!!
