Default Atkins veteran, but new here

Hi All,
I started the Atkins Diet in September 2002 at 31 after noticing I was the second fattest person at my friends' wedding in Zihuatenejo. I am 5'8" and was 211 lbs when I started. I had great success in the first six months and got down to 173 lbs. I maintained the weight loss until almost the end of 2004, when I allowed a bad breakup to lead me astray.

Since late 2004, I have slowly creeped up the scale to 192 lbs. I have been up and down because I would be strict for a while and then let cravings get the better of me. Beer is one of my major pitfalls. I would still order burgers and not eat the bun. I would always order salad instead of fries, but some restaurant bring the salad first and forget to delete the fries, so I would fall victim to some of those too.

So, here I am at 36 years old, 5'8" and 192 lbs. starting phase I again. I started to read You On A Diet because I thought a complete change of pace was needed. Then, I read their menu with things like cucumber salad and pea soup and decided I just can't eat like that and sustain it over time. What would you do in a restaurant?

I am back to phase I and will be back to the 170s before long. Wish me luck. You've got a very nice support forum here and I'm glad I found all of you.

Cheers,

Matt

Welcome Matt!

Hey buddy....I know that name Zihuatenejo - Stephen King used that place in one of his stories... The Shawshank Redemption.....

Anyway, don't mind me, my mind wanders, what you expect I'm almost 45 years old. Haha

Anyway, welcome to the board buddy.

Hop on over to the second time around club. Check into the daily roll call!
