| Good Morning Lisa, Great to have you with us! I know just what your talking about, that big promotion, lets go out to dinner, son got good grades, lets go out to dinner, the day of the week ends with day, let's go out to dinner. | Hi Lisa! Welcome to the board. Your love affair with food doesn't need to end my dear. You just need to alter the way you eat it! There's so many wonderful low carb recipes out there that you can make magnificent meals every day, just leave out the carbs! Food is a wonderful thing, we all love it! Good luck on your adventure!

| Hi Lisa, welcome back to !!! From one food addict to another, i know how you feel but i agree with sillygirl, you just have to alter the way you go about food. I have always celebrated with food, or if im upset i eat, if im stressed i eat, so food has always been my crutch as well. But as i keep on this journey i have learned how to deal with food, even through my mishaps here and there, they are all learning experiences. I would just take it one day at a time and those days will turn into weeks, weeks into months and before you know it, you will have it all figured out. |

| Hi Lisa! As you can see, we all completely understand where you're coming from. Silly's right, you don't have to stop your love of food, just find the way of eating that doesn't backfire on you with fat. There are so many recipes and substitutions that you can use in your meals that are delicious and good for you. Check them out, if you don't find something you are looking for...just ask. Everyone here is very creative and knows many ways to fix our favorite dishes using acceptable foods. You are so right about people who don't accept you for who you are. Well, you have now joined a group of people who only want to help you succeed and reach your goals. Get active in the ADBB. Make a journal, join some challenges, and make friends. You can do it, we're all here for you!

| Hello there Lisa! Welcome! Ditto what the others said: You don't have to stop loving your food... just change the focus. When I started Atkins, I never believed deep down that I could eat low carb for life... and yet, gradually I came to realise that I was loving the way I was/am eating and that I could happily follow this WOE permanently. You'll find that as time goes on you'll miss the carby stuff less and less and come to crave veggies and other healthy foods. Keep us posted as to your progress! We're here for you!

| Hi, my name is Lisa also but i prefer being called LB. reading lisas post and your comments is exactly what i have been looking 4, some support. i feel desperate, i am 38 and 5 ft.4in.and weigh 285, when i look in the mirror this is truly what i feel like . i have been on Atkins before and lost about 40 pds. but fell off the wagon at Thanksgiving and just cant seem to pick myself back up.i use 2 dance alot but my knees hurt sooooo bad that i just couldnt take the pain the morning after, i have a new g/baby and two daughters that need me to be healthy and I DONT WANT TO DIE!! i just need some support, someone i can be real with and someone who knows the emotional and physical pain that comes from carrying around 150pds. of excess weight, i dont need sympathy because i know that i got myself into this shape. i just need a helping hand,PLEASE |
