| Well, you may not be able to set a goal for the 2 week induction, because part of the purpose of induction is to see how metabolically resistant to weight loss you are. At the end of the 2 weeks, you weigh and based upon how much weight you lose, you will have either low, moderate or high metabolic resistance to weightloss. This will let you know about how many carbs you can work your way up to in OWL and still lose weight. Then you can start setting some goals for yourself. Hope this helps! Good luck!

| Welcome Gointodoit! Glad you found us here at ADBB! Kisstuck is right about induction losses... they give you an idea of what your critical carb level for losing (CCLL) will be. It's impossible to say how fast or slowly you will lose. Everyone's so different and there are a myriad of factors that can influence weight loss: Age, health, gender, activity level, medications.... to mention a few. Keep us posted as to your progress. We're here for you!

| Welcome to the board.. Your weightloss could be quick..or it could be slow...but once you get those bad carbs out of your system you are going to feel so much better and that will be worth any slow loss |

| I agree with everyone else. For me fitday.com has really helped me to keep track of carbs everyday. It might be worth checking out. Good luck!

| Well done for reading the book (a lot of the informationyou will need is in there) and for being determined to do it by the letter. Doing Atkins properly will mean you will most likely lose a good few pounds during induction, especially as you will be exercising regularly. But as the others have said, you can't really set a goal for induction as everyone's body responds differently. Let us know of your progress and wishing you a happy induction! |

| Hi there I think it is a great idea to have goals - breaking it up into 'bite size' pieces will keep you encouraged and remind you of how well you will be doing! Also - nothing wrong with a reward at eachmini goal - something nice just for you - like some new sunglasses or shoes - something that will still fit when you have lost all that weight just to remind you of your achievement! Good luck anj |
