Default 2nd time around

Hello to all Atkins adventurers. Started induction 3 days ago and I have already lost 5 pounds! I won't weigh in again till the end of the first 2 weeks, but I was so curious. Lost 42 pounds the first time I tried Atkins back in 1999, kept it off till my first child was born, then I just made excuses, until now.

Now I have 2 kids and am more than ready to be fit and trim again! Pretty excited about the entire prospect but must admit I will miss the ease of eating carbs. Now I just have to think ahead and plan my meals and have the right foods available in the fridge. I hope to lose 60 pounds in the near future!

I would like to run in a 5K in September and be able to put on some clothes that don't have an X in the size.
Hang in there!!

Goal # 2 Have my thighs become less familiar with one another. I am tired of them rubbing up against each other when I walk.
Goal # 3 Be able to see my back without those flabby rolls under my bra line, you know I could store things in those roll creases, a book to read, small toy etc
Goal # 4 Run a 5k in Sept. and continue this WOE.

Hello - welcome back! I'm completely sure that all of your goals are very do-able, and you're already 5lbs down, so well done!

It's great to hear how positive you are, keep it up! I am on day 5 myself if you need an induction buddy, but am staying away from the wretched scales (I have measured myself though and have so far lost 13" in all, so I'm pretty chuffed!).

yeah - I can't say that the inital measuring/photos are my favourite part, but it only hurts for a little while and is extremely satisfying when you're on your way! It's also good if youa scale obsessive like I used to be as you could be losing inches instead of pounds for a while!

Why don't you post your stats and set yourself some mini-goals as well so you can record all of your achievements? We do like a bit of self-congratulation here!!

Will do, just put up a weight ticker, will post mini goals and will definitely have an inner-debate about those pesky measurements
cheers,

Thank you Sallyseachange, all the encouragement is definitely a boost. By the way........what is a "veggie challenge winner"?

Cheers,

Cheers,
We had a fun boardwide challenge a short while ago that was to eat a certain number of carbs from vegetables. It lasted a week and the amount of veggie carbs you were to eat depended on what phase of Atkins you were on. It was more difficult than you'd think and was an eye-opener to many. Lots of people found that they lost more weight when exchanging carbs from "other foods" for veggie carbs.
You'll see quite a few of the cauliflower awards in people's signatures.

Feel free to join any of the challenges that take your fancy. They're great motivators.
