Talking 2nd Time Around And A Lot To Lose

Hi everyone,
I'm new to ADBD but a 2nd timer to atkins. I have tried so many different diets and Atkins is the only one that worked for me. I saw results and that helped me stay focused, I lost 40 pounds in 4 months when I started to feel better about my size I started to go back to my normal eating patterns. Of course that resulted into gaining my weight back and then some.
So i'm starting again and I'm saying the same things this time around " this is a life style change and I won't go back to my normal eating habit, I'm never going to be the person that can eating with out thinking about it."
BUT this time I am determined to commit I CANT fall off the wagon. So now I am tring to this the right way finding help. I hope that ADBD everyone thats in the same boat will help me stay excited and commited. I cant lie I need incouragment. I did Atkins last time alone and didn't quite know that there were sites like this out there. I think its great to have people to talk to regularly that understand. Please give me hints ideas and recipes. I plan on doing the extended induction for quite a while and I dont want to become bored with my choices.
Thanks, Erin

Welcome Erin! You came to the right place to get support for this new WOL. This is also my 2nd time around so I know what you mean about atkins being the only thing that really worked. If you browse through the forums, you will see there is a place for sharing recipes, exercise challenges and just discussions in general about everything atkins. I'm on day 17 and its helped me tremendously to talk to people and get their tips and advice. Good luck on your journey. We are all in this together!

Warm welcome aboard Erin!
You know, this board might just give you the little extra encouragement you need to stick with it and become a "lifer"! I hope so.

You'll find there are lots of fun and motivating activities (feel free to join whatever takes your fancy) and plenty of low carb recipes in the food and cooking forums.
Here's a link to Linda's recipe site. It's totally awesome. The recipes marked with an asterisk are induction friendly:

Happy losing along with us!

Hi Erin! Welcome back. This is also my 2nd time around. The first time I did this a few years back, I lost about 75 lbs but just like you I felt comfortable and went back to my old habits. Then I got pregnant and the weight just kept crawling back. Anyway, I started again 6 weeks ago and down 20 lbs so far. I have made a committment to be a "lifer" like someone said and make it my new WOE.

Best wishes to you.

Hi Erin! Welcome back. You've done it before you can do it again. You might want to start a Journal for yourself at Journal Chats, it's a great place to discuss, learn and lose that weight!

Hi Erin! I am also a second timer to Atkins and am looking forward to getting these pounds off. This board seems so supportive and I am so glad to see that I am not alone. We can do this, girl!

Thanks so much guys. I started on Monday last Tuesday was my birthday I figured that I would enjoy the last dinner with my girl friends of steak tacos and margaritas. I can deal with out the tacos but boy i'll mish the margaritas. Well I have been doing pretty good this week. Its amazing though, I find my self signing in quite regularly to see if there are any new post or threads. I swear just knowing there are people that are in the same boat a doing so well sure keeps my mind on track.
