Default hey guys my 2nd attempt

Hey guys this is my 2nd attempt at doing this diet. Last time it was both me and my brother. I lost about 40 pounds within the first month. This time it is me and my mom starting since my brother moved out. Anyways, I really wanna do things proper this time, I wanna follow the book.. only one problem though, I dont have the book!!

The only information about the atkins diet is the stuff I read from this forum. I dont have the book or ketonesticks or w/e they are called, lol. Anyways, guess I am asking for you atkineers to shed me some light on what I could eat in the first 2 weeks. I know its only 20g grabs a day mostly coming from vegatables.

Also, I started at 292.6 and right now I am 286.2, I began on Monday. But, today I ate a piece of cheese that you put on the burgers, you know, the kraft singles square pieces? Am I alowd those kind of cheeses?

Anyways i'm rambling on.. just thought I would post and get some tips/help. Im not much of a poster but a reader. Hopefully, this time I can stick around for awhile..

One more thing though before I end, I've been wondering what are some good snacks to carry with me in a baggy? I am thinkin' celery? I love celery but i'm assuming I would get sick of that pretty quick so I am open to more suggestions.

Welcome back Shorty! Cool that you decided to re-commit along with your mum this time! It's nice to have someone close to share the journey with.

I'm not sure what's in those cheese squares, over there in the States. Things can be quite different over where I am, but I'm sure someone will be along soon and be able to tell you. Looking at the ingredients list will shed some light, probably... you don't want nasty carby fillers or hidden sugars (yes... I've seen sugar in some processed cheeses!).

As for snacks... hard boiled eggs and cheese are good standbys and easy to carry. Olives too. Also leftover cold meats. Cold sausages (we get italian sausages that are meat only)...

Looking forward to reading about your progress. Happy Atkineering!

Welcome back to Atkins.. I eat the Cheese slices..but what I noticed the other day is that the DELUXE American Cheese doesn't have any carbs where the regular cheese does.. I went to double check but now all of a sudden my cheese is missing...lol Grrr..

Just wanted to say welcome back and cheers to you and your mom for doing this together! It's great to have the added support around you.

As for the book....maybe you can check on Amazon.com half.com or even a local thrift store if you have one in your area.

Best wishes!

Thanks everyone for the awesome replies. I will go out to the stores today to buy some more low carb foods. Guess for the first 2 weeks I will just eat lots of celery and lettuce along with the other great suggestions. Also goin' to look for a atkin's book to try and kick the 2nd week off the correct way.

Hey Shorty! Welcome back!

Regarding the cheese squares.....cut them in 1/4's and put on a paper plate. Put them in microwave for about 1 minute. They will get crunchy like cheese crackers! YUMMY! And you can do it with just about any cheeses.

Since you like cheese, I like cheese stuffed into the groove of the celery, that's a great take along snack. Also, if you can find pepperoni with no sugar in it, that's a good snack as well.

Best of luck to you on your second time around!
