| Wow, you're doing so well- to resist those brownies when you were feeling so awful was a great start! Induction flu can be awful but it is a good sign that you are heading the right way. Think positive and you will soon be over it and on your way to feeling great. I too lost my appetitite during the early stages of Induction but it does gradually return, especially when you create really appetising dishes with Atkins legal ingredients. Keep doing what you're doing and you will soon enjoy this way of eating. |

| Thanks Everyone! I am especially happy to have so much support. Today is day 4 for me, and I am wanting to step on the scale, but I won't. I will wait until the 21st, and hopefully I will be down. Any amount of weight loss will thrill me, but I am shooting for 7 pounds. I tried on these jeans this morning, I still can't fit them, but that just motivated me more. I AM GOING TO GET INTO THOSE DAMN JEANS BY THE END OF THIS MONTH! I signed up for the recreation center, but haven't actually worked out yet, however, I did take the 3 year old to the park and ran around with him for about an hour. That is the most exercise I've done recently so that is a start. Well, I am on my 32 ounces of water so far today. For breakfast, I just had a country omelette, with cheese, mushrooms, green peppers, and ham, with a side of bacon. For lunch, I will have cabbage soup. I think this is okay, since there is nothing in it but cabbage, I took the carrots out, and ditched the crackers. Well, I am feeling better today, have a lot more energy, and those cravings are still there, but only slightly. I will post later. I look forward to any suggestions that you have, and if you can please let me know how much you lost on induction. I already know I will be doing extended induction as well. Thanks, these stories also motivate me more.

| Congratulations on starting this new Way of Life. It's nice to see your commitment and deterimination to succeed through this. Be careful with foods (and gum) with sugar alcohols in them, as it causes weight loss stalls for some people. I recently discovered it does for me, and I am now avoiding them like the plague. As far as excercise, start slowly, but try for at "Least" 10 minutes a day, everyday, for the first 3 weeks or so. That can be as small as a walk to the end of the block and back with one of your kids. The reason I say this is you're currently in the habit of Not excercising. IF when you're trying to get in a pattern of excercising, you take a couple of days off (which you can do later on), it's sometimes hard to resart after the day off. So create the habit, and then take the break. Of course, aim for more than that on your "excercise days ". Good luck to you and keep up the good work and positive attitude. |

| The flu can bite you in the a**, but you'll feel better in a few days. Drinking water and eating a good breakfast seem to have helped me when I went through it. Just a few more days and you should be out of it. During this past week at work has been very difficult to get through...first someone had one of the biggest cakes I have ever seen in person here, 2 apple pies, tons of chips, sodas, cookies, lasagna...you name it. It has been "food day" (kind of like pot luck) around here almost every day for the past week. I did very well the first few days, then tonight, well I don't want to go there but I have to. I cut myself a piece of apple pie, took a few scrumptous and delicious bites, started feeling disgusted, logged on here (ADBB for encouragement) and threw the rest away. Now it sits in my trashcan in my cubicle, ehhhh. I don't want to look at it. If you have the will power like it sounds you do, its just a matter of time before you lose the 30 lbs before your birthday. Don't do what I did, try to cheat, it sucks!

| okay....so i've cheated....drank a pint of vodka, and a 24 oz of beer because I heard some bad news...then ate a "small" pack of peanuts...5g of carbs, 1g of sugar, and 170cal....also had sour cream on my chipotle steak bowl with black beans, lettue, tomato, and cheese....All of this over the weekend......way to go failure. However, I stepped on the scale...7 pounds down...met my goal of 7 pounds, so I am back on the wagon, and because I had a BAD 2 days over the weekend, I am extending induction 2 extra days....Come on guys scold me! I definitely need a good whipping. And not cool whip!

| Kelly - good for you for dusting yourself off and getting back on the horse! That's so important. Just remember why you are doing this and how great you will feel when you reach goal - and during the trip, too!
