| theres no point in staying on really, unless you have a high resistance - which you can see the table in DANDR OWL - is an ONGOING! weight loss, it doesnt stop, it just means you can add things back, for your info, mine is faster now im on OWL

| Hi Julie. Welcome to the board. I'm sure you'll find this a wonderful place to get encouragement and support as you change your life-style and become healthier and thinner. Staying on induction is up to you. Dr. Atkins has a list in his book with questions you ask yourself. How much do you have to lose, are you bored with the foods you are eating and how fast do you lose? The important thing is that you allow yourself the time to go through the rungs and become comfortable with the program. You'll want to see how your body reacts to the different foods, and spend enough time in pre-maintenance and maintenace to assure that once you've reached your goal you can maintain it. Best wishes! We're here for you ~ keep us posted on your progress.

| Hi there ... welcome. Dreamof145 is right you know. I tried the extended induction bit, and lost a LOT of weight - but when I reached goal I didn't really have a clue how to eat properly to maintain my weight. Soooo ... I piled some back on - and now I'm back on Atkins doing it rung by rung. And I think the boredome factor is important. The weight will come off - so you might as well enjoy getting to add 5 gram increments. Lots of luv to you. |

| Hi and welcome to ADBB! I agree wholeheartedly with what the others have told you. Learning how to eat in the "real" world is just as important as the weight loss in Atkins. |

| Thank you all so much for the info. I will definetely try it the way the Dr. Says now. I just hope to keep losing and not stop. I know I have to incorporate the new foods back into my diet slowley so I will take my time and read through the book again to make sure I am staying on track. Thanks again. Julie |

| Hi there ... and a big welcome to ADBB, I am currently doing the extended induction and my weight is coming down albeit slower than some people here, but I know I just have to keep on going and have faith that I will get there in the end. I know at times it is kinda hard, but with the support you get here, you will do fine I am sure

| Hi Julie, yes, you should move up the food ladder! If you read around the board some, you will see that many of us get stuck at induction levels. Then the big light bulb goes off over our head and we give it a try. I would sy 99% of us continue to lose weight on a steady basis! Plus you can eat so many more foods so it's unlikely you will get bored! EDIT *This Spotlight-Introduce Yourself thread has been closed due to extended absence of owner.
