Default Hi! VERY EXCITED to start this!

Hi! Well, I guess I better begin by saying that as you can see, I am addicted to sugar. I cannot just have one candy bar. One candy turns into "well, I ruined today, I better start tommorow but eat everything bad for me today cause I won't get to eat it again"...that turns into a whole day "binge" fest until I get sick. I am really sick of doing that yo-yoing with my body. I was on a really low fat low calorie diet with a whole bunch of exercise and I was only losing about 1 pound a week which is still losing but I was always hungry, always felt deprived. I want to eat like I am going to for the rest of my life...not eat for a "diet". I already get a bunch of exercise but the midsection weight will not go away!!! so it must be my diet. I am a big diet coke addict too. I have previously been diagnosed with hypoglycemia so that doesn't help either!!! lol..I have so many "food related problems". So, that is me...ready to get this started and start being a loser!!! I bought the DANDR book and just finished reading it all so I am really prepared. I have a big event scheduled for September so I really want to lose most of this weight by then!! Here goes to Induction!!!

Hi. Welcome. Glad to have you join us. A clean induction will help you with your sugar addictions, as well as get you started burning fat. There's lots of inspiration here to help you make plans to succeed. Get active and make friends here - I found that to be the best way to stay motivated and on track. Welcome, I am also a major sugar addict, my daughter had a fit when she saw me dipping my banana in a little dish of sugar. She sometimes still reminds me of that. Even a smidge of sugar could set me off, I try to stay farrrrrrr................. away from it. Keep us posted it helps me a lot to check the forums every day.

Welcome! I can totally relate, being a sugar addict myself. I can't even eat sugar free candy or it will send me into a frinzy. You've come to the right place. Once you get through induction flu with the killer headache from detoxing from sugar, and simple carbs, you'll find this woe is the way to go. It's so great that you have the book. Refer to it often, it will help keep you on track. If you have a hard time with cravings, I recommend you take L- Glutamine, it really works! Drink lots and lots of water. It will help flush your body for a clean induction and beyond. It's great to have you aboard, I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Hey Sugaraddict, WELCOME !!!

..You've gotten some good advice and it sounds like you are well prepared to start this WOL (Way of Life). I'd like to add a page from my book, which you may find silly, or not. I too am hypoglycemic and I succeed with two things I do. The not silly one is to eat mini meals every couple of hours. Even a couple devil eggs or a couple slices of meat with help tremendously. Keep the food coming on regular basis with Lots of water to flush your system.
..Now for what you may think is silly. Some people go through induction and just want to get through it and don't want to "think" too much. They want to get over the flu and get on with it. For a sugar addict, I want you to "Embrace It". Think and feel about every second of the FLU. Journal it. Write it down to refer to later. The reason I say this is when it's all over, and you get those sugar temptations, you can read and remember how you felt and ask yourself if that one bite of sugar is worth it. It will also make you more dedicated to reading those labels first to make sure you don't accidently get that one bit of sugar.
..Have a great journey, and ask questions when you have them. There's alot of great people on this board.

Hi sugaraddict. I hope that you are well and coping with your induction. It does get easier I promise you and those cravings will just disappear. I don't even notice the sugary foods anymore, I promise you.
