Default 2 weeks of induction done

Hi Everyone
I am so happy here. I started induction 2 weeks ago and have lost 10 lbs. I am almost afraid to start the next phase because I am afraid I will start to gain weight.
I have lost cravings for all bread and sweets as well as wine. I just to drink a glass of wine every day. No more.
I am in ketosis and I am afraid of going out of it when I start the new phase of the diet.
I am doing well and I think I should stay on induction till I lose more weight.
I started at 160, now 150 and my goal s 120.
Is my choice of continuing induction okay? or shall I strat to increase carbs?
Pat

I would strongly suggest moving on to OWL read thru the stickins in the OWL forum and get your head in line with how it works,

you wont get out of ketosis by going thru OWL, the first rung is just adding veggies, who got fat from eating veggies?

when i did atkins the first time round i failed as i stayed on induction too long, this WOE is so easy when done correctly, makes eating out simple when you are moving up the "rungs"

you can up the ladder as slow as you like, no big rush!

Welcome to Pat!

Congratulations on your success so far! I can understand your reluctance to move on when you're doing so well on induction, but extending induction is really only feasable for those who have an extraordinary amount of weight to lose.

Following the rungs and plan correctly is the only way you'll be able to continue this way of eating for life. If you stay on induction you won't learn how to eat properly or what your food tolerances/intolerances are.

Best of luck on your weight loss journey and if you need anything please feel free to give a shout!

Hiya Pat and welcome! Congrats on your success so far... and am really glad to hear you're so happy on Atkins.

As you haven't a huge amount of weight to lose, I'd agree with the others and suggest that you move to OWL. Don't be afraid of it... you still get to lose.
I made the mistake (in retrospect) of staying on extended induction for too long when I could have been having more veggies and other food choices with little or no slowdown, at least on the early rungs.

Many people actually find they lose faster in OWL, particularly rung one... and you can stay there a good long time, if you like.

Post lots and tell us how things are going. We're with ya!

Welcome Pat. I agree with the others on moving through the rungs of OWL. The program is designed so that you don't get bored eating the same foods ~ and so you can learn to make healthy choices in all food groups and still lose or maintain your weight.

Make friends here, get involved in all the resources available with journals, challenges and conversations with the other members. The more fun you have, the easier it will be to make it a way of life.

Best wishes!!

Hi! I feel the same way as you and our goals are the same. I finished 1 week of induction with a 5 pound loss and my goal weight is 123. I'm 12 pounds from goal and also afraid of leaving induction. The people on this site are the experts so I'm going to listen to them.Good luck!

Yay Patty! Great job of losing during induction! Do not fear the OWL, there's a reason Dr. A wants us to move up the food ladder. The reason is, you will continue to lose weight!
