Default Im back!!

Well, its been awhile since I have been here and now I have to explain what has been happening.

I tried to post this in my journal but it says its been closed, hopefully someone can tell me how to get it back open, anyway here is my journey the past few months...

I went to my foot dr, and explained that I was doing atkins. Now i was used to catching crap from my other dr's tho they were happy with my weight loss.
My foot dr scared me into going off the program saying that this diet could cause gout to set up in my feet, so I gave up thinking about it because I got really scared of loosing total use of my feet.

Although I havnt gained any of my weight back, I am very discouraged to find out that my blood sugars are way back up and the yeast issues have returned, but it wasnt until the hives came back the other day that I decided I cant go their route anymore... I need this way of life..I was happy with this way of eating and feeling better than I had felt in years.

So here I am, a Second time around person!! Back for what I feel is for good.

Now on to some questions..lol
Should I pick up where I left off, or should i go back to induction? Remembering that I havnt gained none of my weight back. Or is it best to go back to induction to get myself into ketosis?

Is there any new developments that I need to know about.

Talk to yall soon
Robin

Welcome back Robin! Very nice to see you again. I'm sure all your health issues will clear up like magic pretty soon after you take up this way of eating again. You made the right decision, I'm positive.

As you haven't regained any weight (much kudos to you!) you could just do a few days of induction, to get back into ketosis, then carry on from where you were before you stopped Atkins. Am wondering where that was... extended induction or OWL? If you were very close to the top rungs of OWL, you might not need to re-induct as you might have left ketosis behind way back when... before you stopped the programme... or have been fluctuating in and out (which happens to most around 50 g carbs per day as far as I remember).

To get your journal re-opened you need to pm one of the Journal Chats forum mods or admins (Laurenfra, jimmie 48, sillygirl, floydgirl).

Thank you so much for your reinforcement that I have made the right descision. The gout thing really concerns me but the high BG's and the hives concern me more. I was on OWL hovering between the 6th and 8th rung I think. I have been watching the carbs I have been eating, but eating the wrong type of carbs..flour, sugar and caffeine have been the most. not nessecarily, cakes and cookies and candy, but more like breading on meat, or buscuits, an occasional gravy. I have also been eating more potatoes than before, maybe once a week. I tried whole grain spaghetti once and some egg noodles. I have been eating that kinda stuff in moderation so I think thats why I havnt gained the weight back, but they have wrecked havoc on my BG's and yeast issues.

I was telling my daughter that tomorrow is grocery day and I am getting all the proper stuff I need to go back to the way I was eating. I felt soooo much better. I am also starting back on my vitamins and water routine tomorrow. I am eager to start this over again, and to get my BG's back under control.

The worse part of it is getting back into the habit of eating in the mornings I am wondering how a weeks induction will do for me..lol

Sounds like you've got a good plan Robin! I'd just re-induct until you get into ketosis.

Glad to see you back in the trenches with us Robin. A big super congrats for not gaining any weight while you were away. I am with Sally, I bet your conditions will clear up in no time. This way of life is the best, and this supporting family is even better. I am sure you already know this because you are back doing what you know works. I am looking forward to seeing you around, brady

Hi Robin! I've often wondered where you had run off to! Did you go to the STAC forum yet?

Welcome back, be strong!
