I am reintroducing myself since the last time I was on here I have not done the diet correctly. Yesterday my wife was pleading with me to do a different diet. I have restarted Atkins so many times that she sees it as hopeless. So I made her a deal, I will weigh myself and if I have not lost weight in two weeks I will try something else. I also spent Friday night restless from leg & back pain brought on by being overweight and inactive.



Well to make me more devoted I did several things. The first thing I did was shave my beard. I grew it to hide my double chin seven years ago. So yesterday I shaved it off and saw myself again for the first time in seven years. Yes, my double chin is still there. At least now I could watch it shrink. I also got a short haircut. Before it was like Einstein’s, sticking up all over the place and being hard to comb. I also bought a lot of new sweaters, which should last me through several sizes. Before I was wearing dress shirts unbloused because I did not want everyone to see my huge belly. I looked like a slob.



Yes, I still look fat. I look like I am twelve years old with a big round fat face. But I am clean cut, well dressed, and feel better about myself. I said before that I would dress nice once I got skinny, but why should I wait? I feel with my promise to my wife, my new look and clothes I will be able to start this new lifestyle right.

Welcome to the board. You can do this and you will it happen for you. Just take your time and read the book. There are some many wonderful people on this board to help along the way.

So glad you changed your "image" and now feel better about yourself. That's a wonderful way to start, because as you feel yourself shrink that good feeling will get stronger and stronger. A win win situation.

Welcome back...sounds like you're on your way. You may want to go to the Second Time Around Club board. Lots of us there that have been successful, fallen off track and are back. Like the rest of this forum, it has a lot of very supportive people.

Either way...You CAN do this!

Wow... I am so impressed with the changes you made to yourself to start this way of life. That is really cool.

I just had to stop by to let you know that it does NOT matter how many times you have tried Atkins without success... as long as you commit to THIS TIME being the real deal, you WILL succeed. I am proof positive of that. This time around has been like no other... as long as you follow the plan to the letter, it will definitely work. I feel so blessed to have found my way back to eating this way. I have never felt better, and have confidence that I will do this for the rest of my life.

Post often and ask questions. The information and support here are incredible. I look forward to following your progress.

Hey Dr Who! Welcome back. I too love your changes and attitude. That's 50% of it right there.

In what ways didn't you follow this plan correctly? Have you read the book? We are all here to help you succeed at this. It's not hard, the board is a great place to vent and ask questions. We are most definitely all here for the same reasons.
