Cool Atkins- Welcome back!

Hello Everyone!

Years ago in college, I used Atkins to stay slim because I was on my college's dance team and was constantly being scrutinized and weighed and pinched in front of every girl on the team. Because of this, I grew to resent the low carb lifestyle so when i graduated I introduced myself to massive amounts of carbs and didn't meet a bowl of pasta that wasn't my new best friend. Over the past few years I put on 40 pounds, and even though I love my curves, I realize that I am overweight and it isn't healthy to keep eating the way I have been. I have tried several diets over the past year or so limiting calories and using points and whatnot, but those haven't and won't work for me because I'm totally addicted to carbs once I start eating them.

So, I'm finally going back to Atkins where eating isn't such a battle everyday. I was afraid that starting up again would bring back some really bad memories from practically starving on the dance team, but I'm already almost through with induction and I feel great! I'm lucky because I already have a positive body image (which took years to get back), so I am truly looking to live a healthier life and get to a healthy weight. I have also been a vegetarian for the last three years, so things will be a little trickier but so far so good. I am thankful for this forum existing so that I have a positive and supportive outlet on my weightloss journey.

Hi, bouncbunny (cute name!)

Just wanted to welcome you aboard. How great that you are already almost through with Induction! That is definitely the harderst part, and it is sooo important to get a clean 2 week induction under your belt. It only gets easier from there.

Please post often, and feel free to ask any question that you may have. This board has been key to my success, and I am glad that you found us.

Best wishes

Welcome back to Atkins bouncbunny! So glad you decided to re-commit to this way of eating.
There are several vegetarians around, doing Atkins successfully, so I'm sure that you too will find your way and not have any problems.

Post lots and let us know how you're doing! We're all looking forward to applauding you along the route!

Hi bouncbunny, welcome to the board. There is no reason to starve yourself eating this way, in fact the opposite is true. Eating this way you will remain full and energized. I think this time you are in for a great experience. Post often to the board! Best of luck to you.

Welcome! The good news is that you no longer need to go hungry! You can eat until you are completely satisfied! Dancing is such good exercise, so you won't even feel like you are exercising! You are a lucky girl! Congrats on your loss so far!

Sunny!

Hi sunny Smile,

Thank you so much for the PM, I did figure that much out(how to check mail). But the picture thing I still can't figure out! I did realize that I want to save my before pic in my signature spot. but I can't get the pics to paste. I'll figure it out eventually. Yes I do have them saved to hard drive/computer. And in the mean time I'll send them to you in an e-mail. How did the last couple of day's go for you??
