Default trying to get my motivation back

Hi everyone~

I am trying to get back into the program. I am just getting ready to start induction again. I am having a problem getting motivated and just when I get into ketosis I eat something I shouldn't. I really want to get this right. I feel so much better when I am eating low carb. I lost like 30 lbs over the summer but here recently I have gained back like 15 went waaay over board around christmas. Anyway here I am and I look forward to joining some of the challenges and getting motivated again

JUST DO IT!! Come here often to read & post, join some challenges, start a journal if you don't have one & keep your DANDR book handy to refer to.

Good luck!

Hi Julie,

Good to hear you are keen to get back to it. Some things you could consider doing to really get motivated:
- Glenda is right - read and re-read DANDR
- Look at before and during photos
- Look at the loser's lounge thread The Losers' Lounge
- remember the longer you go without a cheat the less the cravings will bother you - don't re-addict yourself.
- plan some goals and rewards - i.e. a facial when you've lost 5lbs, etc

Best of luck!

Welcome back to Atkins! It's great that you decided to re-commit before you re-gained all 30 lbs. Now you only have half that to get back where you were. You did it before, so you can certainly do it again.

Use the board and all it has to offer. The challenges are super motivating, not to mention fun. You might like to keep a journal too...
Lots of options!

Keep us posted. We're rooting for you.

Hi,

There is an awesome thread here about excuses, you may find interesting, its a twist to what you are probably thinking its about. Its really motivating. Also, i find if i read this site throughout the day, it keeps me remembering my plan and goals and why i am doing.

Take a deep breath and simply be honest with yourself.

Julie,

The before and after pics are what really get me going. It's just so amazing to me to see the transformation that others have made. Those pictures make me long for a transformation of my very own. They also help me to see that no matter how hard it's been in the past, it is possible me...right here and right now. I hope you find your motivation soon so you can get started losing again and feeling better. Good luck and best wishes.

Kim

It's good to be back at the forum. I , like Julie, took a break from Atkins. I lost 20 lbs and it has started to creep back after two months of carb indulgence. I am eager to get back into the swing of things in 2008. Good luck everyone!

Hi Julie! Welcome back to Atkins and the board. You will find all the motivation you need right here, the rest has to come from you. You can do it!

Wow~thanks so much for all the replies. I think this group will really help me.

I have been re-reading my atkins stuff and that is a lot of motivation in itself. I forgot how addicted I was to carbs and how much better I'll feel once I am back off them.

Thanks again for the support~I'll keep ya posted on how it's going.
