| I'll have to say fitday is addictive!! lol...your right it was a pain trying to figure it all out and trying to customize took a bit of doing.also..I'm down to tablespoons and oz..lol..pretty cool though..I know when I first came on and was told I wasn't eating right or enough and that I'd gain before I lost...well that was the truth.I haven't lost a pound I fluxuate a up and down and it does get discouraging because I'm giving it 100% ..I know it will pay off...(saying a prayer)thats o.k. I'm more motivated than ever and getting my miles in every day..I will succeed!!!! |

| I was feeling and looking smaller one day during induction and I got on the scale (even though I said to myself I wasn't going to weigh until the end) and I had gained a pound! So I gave my scale away to my husband to hide (after I cried for an hour) and told him to keep it until the end of February. I am so hooked on that scale that even though I looked smaller and I had lost some in my measurements, I still was devastated. So, I wanted to show you something that Kate58 said to me in another thread. " I weigh every day, but don't worry too much about it. I don't have a scale that measure fractions of pounds though, that would do my head in. This is how I look at it, and the pattern it tends to follow: I go down a pound or two. Happy morning! But I expect that the next day or few days I'll see that weight go back on, then off again, the on again - maybe several times. I think of it as my body getting used to the idea of permanently giving up that pound or two, which takes time. It might take 2 days or 2 weeks for the next loss, but I know it's coming, it's just that my body has to work on adjusting and letting the previous couple of pounds go before it is ready to move on to the next. Because I expect it to happen, and have a reasoning for why it does, it doesn't bother me in the least to see each little bit of weight loss come and go. I know that as long I do my part by eating on plan, in the long run the only way is down." That put it in better perspective for me. I do think, though, I am better a once-a-month weigher than once a day. I don't know, maybe I could be a once a week weigher but in between times, I try on these two pair of jeans I have, a size 15 and a size 14 in Levi's and see how they fit. Also, I can tell a difference in the way my body is shaped and I take pictures. You should always have other modes of measurement other than the scale or, if you are like me, there will times when you will be disappointed to the point of crying. We have to get over those numbers on that scale especially if we know we are in ketosis and we see our body shrinking! |

| THANK YOU ..THANK YOU ....THANK YOU!! I'm so bad with my scale..I swear it calls me..I'd weigh in the morning, afternoon, and night..that's how bad my scale addiction is,I pretty much thought I was alone on that until one day on Oprah...other women saying the same thing and would strip down in the middle of the day to see if a smidgeon of weight had changed..it's horrible..I measured but don't even think I did that right I think after what you wrote I'll hide the dam scale for a bit..and keep on plugging away.... |

| I have tried to turn my obsession and over indulgence of the scale and on food (consuming crazily) to one of reading (in the book and on this site), doing fitday, doing small spurts of exercises and it is really paying off. I can't exercise for an hour at a time but I can exercise for an hour doing 10 to 15 minutes at a time. So, the next time you feel like weighing, go to http://exercisetv.tv/studio/miniworkouts/ and do a mini workout. All of them are about 10 minutes long. OR, look up new recipes on Linda's low carb site at http://genaw.com/lowcarb/ the ones with astericks by them are induction friendly. This morning, I am going to make a quiche because I don't cook in the morning. I figured if I was going to obsess over something, since it is my nature, I might as well obsess over something more fruitful. |

| I love the snow. All my live I have lived in areas where it doesn't snow...perhaps that is why I like the snow! I made that quiche. I modified the ingredients. It is quite good! My biggest failure is planning meals and cooking ahead. So now with me going through the recipes and making lists and cooking (I just started today) it is going to make it much easier. Once, two weeks ago, I made a bunch of devilled eggs and they were good! and perfect for breakfast for me as I was going out the door. By the time I got to school, I would have almost a liter of water drank and my breakfast under my belt. It really makes a difference.

| I am new also...and getting a little discouraged. I started induction on 2/4/08. SW 191 CW 187 GW 145 I have been drinking up to 80oz of water daily...and for the past ten years I have a slave to soda...so I am still weaning myself off of Diet C. ... to supplement my sweet tooth I am also drinking lots of Crystal Lite. I'm just bummed that i haven't had a dramatic weight loss success in my first week. I eat steak, bacon, lots of eggs...and salad. I think I need to change some things but the whole induction stage is just discouraging right now for me. I started weight training on Saturday...should I be eating more, less...should I eliminate the diet coke....I think I need lots of help here.
