Default Not new here, but I am Back!!

Hi, Everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that I am back and am ready to continue with Atkins. I found out that I was pregnant on January first, and decided to go on the maintenance part of Atkins. I was 12 weeks pregnant and ended up losing it. My diet was shot after this happened because of the mood that I was in and I had to go have surgery to complete the miscarriage. We had tried for over a year and a half and I was just beyond helping at that time. It has been three months since this happened and I am ready again to start over with Atkins. I started on 4/10/08 at 291 and am down to 278 right now. I figure that it was probably water and salt weight on me. I know that it sounds like a LOT to lose in just a few days but I am weighing at my moms because we are doing this together and she saw it as well. My scale at home matched (I go over there because she will only count the weight loss if she sees it herself at her house on her scale). I am so excited about it and ready to keep losing the weight. I want to feel better again and this is the way to do it. I already feel better and my clothes are looser as well!!

Hi, Em

I do remember you. It's great to have you back in the ADBB family.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

Good for you for re-starting this journey to a healthy life! As you can see from my stats, I didn't completely succeed on my first go-around with Atkins, either. But I am here to tell you that it can be even better this time! My best advice is to look upon this as a way of life, and not a means to lose weight. It isn't something that you stop doing when you hit goal... we will eat this way for the rest of our lives. So relax into it, and learn as much as you can about this WOE and your body.

Best of luck to you, Em

Congratulations on your weight loss thus far. It is wonderful that you have your mom for support & that she has you. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss & must say it is impressive that you have jumped right in to the quest for health.

Thanks everyone for the wb....I know that I should have stayed on Atkins the whole time, but once all of this happened added to other things, I just didnt want to go shop for groceries anymore and my husband was doing it all. He had to make me eat a lot of the time. The doctors were not cooperating with me at all. They told me that I could not stay on Atkins during pregnancy and I told them that I would move to maintenance. I was told not to restrict my carbs. I kept asking them the amount of suitable carbs I should be eating and no one would give me a number. I was so mad. This time I am looking around for a different doctor who knows something about Atkins and can give me a better plan to follow. Those kind are hard to come by around here, sadly. Haven't found one yet. I am planning on doing this now until the weight is gone. I am exercising, eating what I should be, and only buying things that I can have. Hubby likes that I am trying to lose weight and we can already tell a difference, he just doesnt like the food that we are eating. He is a macaroni kind of person, and he has started sneaking things home when I am not looking. Anyway, I am glad to be back and I already feel a LOT better than I did before eating right again. My mom and my sister are on their own made up diets and for my sister it is working but eating less would work for her because she was up to over 500 pounds. We are glad that she is at least trying now, just for her health. My mom is on the eat as few calories as you can diet and doesn't understand why she is not losing eating only grapefruit and chicken. Oh boy. Sorry for the novel here, but I am rather happy today!!

Progress. That's the name of the game. So long as that scale is moving down, you are on your way. Sorry about your loss. Keep us posted. God Bless, Joe
