Default New To atkins, but fail to carvings today

Hello All
I have been carbing since Tuesday and was doing excellent but unfortunately lost the battle when a sudden rage of craving for sweets over took me and i at two packets of those sweet n creamy peanut butter cookie. Once i ate those cookies, i thought i will feel good but my insides started talking and i have never felt soooo bad. My heart was racing and i was getting hot. I didn't know what was going on. I will never do that again. i am still feeling miserable. I have this feeling of beeing over full and i don't like that. I can't even drink my water. Eating that sugar and flour has taught me a lesson. The next time i get a sugar craving, i will be more careful in what i choose. I got on the scale this morning and i lost a few pounds but don't know what it will be after this mess up. Stats are below.

SW: 210lbs (flucuates between 209-210lbs)
CW: 205lbs
GW: 130lbs

Hi, Considerate

Welcome to ADBB!

The next time one of those cravings descend upon you, come on over here and start reading and posting. We'll help you take your mind off of it.

The silver lining to this little episode, is that now you know that cheating just isn't worth it. If you do it a few more times, the reactions get to where they aren't so bad... and then it is super-easy to get carried away with carbage. Just make sure that you don't let this one time completely derail you. As long as the next bite of food you consume is legal, this incident will be nothing more than a valuable lesson learned. I let a cheat at a Chinese restaurant turn into a month long binge on my first time around on Atkins.

This board is a huge place, and offers a wealth of information, support, and motivation. Here are a few links to get you started... the first one is to a site that a lot of us use for recipes, and the others are to popular places around the board. Best wishes to you on your journey!

Hi considerate. Welcome. This is a learning process for all of us, each hurdle we get over helps to make us stronger to resist future temptations and obstacles. Make a journal entry on how this made you feel so you can re-read it if the cravings start again. Devise other things you can do instead of caving in to them. Finding solutions now will help you later. Best wishes!

Welcome Considerate!

Kudos to you for getting back on track!
Next time you get a craving, have a high fat snack. It really helps. Be prepared always and never be without a "little high fat something" to ward off those cravings.

Thanks everyone for your support. I got on the scale again, and i think i am getting lower than the 205lbs. It has been moving back and forth from 203-204lbs. I will not be on this diet for 1 wk on Tuesday and i have already lost 5lbs. i hope that by the full 14days of induction, i am able to get below 200lbs. My goal is 195lbs. Wish me luck!

Hi and Welcome!

I like your attitutude....pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. I also appreciate your honesty. You're going to make it!

It's important not to have an "all or nothing" mentality. You didn't let one moment of weakness turn into a day, a week, a month or a year.
