| HEY there... good for you for recognizing your addiction to carbs. I honestly did not see it clearly until not that long ago... hence my starting weight of 297... being honest with yourself is step number one. the biggest tip I can suggest is to NOT CHEAT especially during induction. I have tried atkins and failed the first three time. The first time... I did it because I was dating a guy who wanted me to do it... BAD IDEA GIRLS!!! the second time because I had a poorly planned lunch that fell 7 days into induction and I thought I would just start back up that night... NOPE.... despite 6lbs loss in 7 days...(mostly water...) i never started back up. the last time which was not too long ago.. i convinced myself that nuts were ok on induction... I crave CRUNCH... and the nuts did that for me... but I never saw progress. This time... I started already haveing lost weight simply by exersizing and cutting out sugar... but I had reached a stall... ATKINS seemed the best solution... and is proving me right. I feel great, strong... using celery and cucumbers instead of nuts... lots of water... I take some good vitamins... DIGESTIVE ENZYMES... which I think is incredibly important for us when we are consuming so much protien... AND i am walking 5kms every day... I am making progress... I cannot see it yet... but I really really feel it. YOU CAN DO THIS... if you are soooo young.. you should do whatever you can to stay true to the phases... I have been obese and numb my whole adult life... YOU HAVE yours outstretched before you you can be and do anything you put your mind to.... WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT YOU BRING ABOUT!... "the secret" Visualize yourself as thin... and fit, and healthy, and shopping in reg size clothing stores... SAY daily... I AM FIT, I AM TONED, I AM THIN... GOOD LUCK... if you ever need inspiration... you know where to come!!!! the second time |

| Good Luck MzNewbie....I am just starting too and just went shopping...I bought alot of cabbage cause I love it as a filling soup with broth and meat and also fried with hamburger and such...do you cook? It might be hard when someone else is doing the cooking if they are not making it Atkins friendly. Try to go super basic...meat, low carb vegies, 3-4 oz of cheese and thats it for awhile....after you get the hang of it and get off induction then follow the phases to add more items to your list of allowable items...anyhow, thats my advice which I recently gave myself! lol All the luck to you....you can do it! Hugs, Sonya~ |
