| I hear that about the diet all of the time. However a few things to consider: 1) What is more healthy the Atkins Diet or having 100 extra lbs of fat on you? 2) Listen to some of the testimonials of the people here. It is never the people that are on the atkins diet complaining that the diet is not healthy. If you need to loose 100 lbs ... It is my opinion that the Atkins Diet is the correct diet for you. You will loose a big chunk first ... and we can help you loose the rest. Just stick to the diet. |

| Welcome Gina! I am a newbie too!! I could lose 100, but I am setting my goal weight higher. I want to lose 70 pounds. And then I will make the decision what to do next. I also found that the more active you are on the boards, the more people are supportive. I am so glad I joined and you will be too! Good luck! |

| Welcome Gina! You have found the greatest place for support, encouragement & knowledge. Ask questions, share your successes & frustrations, start a journal in journal chats, check out The Century Club~~~wonderful people there, join a challenge or two & explore the site! I would also suggest you take your measurements so you can keep track of the inches you lose. Have you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution...2002 version? If not please do yourself a huge favor & get yourself a copy & read it! That book will be the best investment! Again welcome to ADBB!

| I've heard a lot about that not healthy thing - in fact, just today my co-worker (skinny one!) tells me - eat what you want when you want. Ahhh... hello! That's what got me to this point!!! Congratulations on your success so far! |

| Thanks guys for the support..yesss that's what i told them that even if they think its unhealthy it cannot be more unhealthy than the way i was eating..anyways to answer your question yes i have the book i picked it up at borders before i started but im not sure if its the 2002 version and i also found there the Atkins journal a 120 day record and it comes with the carbohydrate gram counter (another Little Book) which i think is great because in the beginning of the journal it has all the main points in the book..i wish i knew that before i read like 400 pages ..but it also helps to keep record of everything you eat during the day..thanx again for the posts and good luck to everyone |

| i know betty and you look great by the way..that's what im trying to do to prove them all wrong cuz if i don't i will look like an idiot lol..the other thing is also because i already have high cholesterol so they don't get how eating eggs and all this meat will not affect that and make it worse..and honestly i couldn't really argue because i really don't know how that works..if anyone knows please tell me..thanx.
