| A Warm Welcome to the board Reading your post, it so closely resembles what DR A said: You had all this wonderfull energy--lost a lot of wieght--and in time the energy which you have everyday is taken for granted--that's when the old way's of eating begin, convincing yourself that this one time (because of the way I look and feel) won't change anything.. but quickly the plan is abandoned. I know you will do great this 2nd time and using the board will keep you motivated and inspired! WTG!

| Welcome! Look at it this way. Now you know it only takes one meal to get you off track. And, you know how much better you feel on the WOE (sometimes it takes falling off the wagon to realize the bumpy ride is better than walking behind it) I think your insight will help you stay on even better this time around! Good luck.

| Welcome. Pick yourself up and get back in the saddle again. Resist the temptation. Perhaps next time have a salad and skip the dessert. I know easier said than done, but I beleive you are strong enough to resist. Stay focused. God Bless, Joe |

| Angie- Welcome! Congrats on joining. We will help you and you will help us. I just joined a week ago and have already gotten a lot of help from the group, and maybe helped a little too. Are you exercising? That keeps us strong physically, feeling much better after the initial aches pass, and we need to less eat less, plus it gives us more mental toughness to "just say no." There are some great exercise ideas and programs in the forum. Having said that, I am human too and it is amazing what even one or two rich foods can do to reverse our success. For me it was a friend who smiled and said "My mom made this carrot cake for you." They knew I like carrot cake and had it made for me. How could I say 'no'? Another friend made and brought homemade pies, so I was cornered. Here is a 'pre-emptive' idea: Pick some buddies in the group and email them for coaching/support/will power. Then, the next time an army of mannicotti and canolies is amassing at your carb-resistant castle walls, call for backup! -Glenn

| Hello Angie... nice to meet ya! Welcome aborad. It's really cool that you decided to hop back on the wagon. You were successful before, and I'm willing to bet you will be again... this time, hopefully, for the duration. You've taken that all important first step and are back on track... the second all important step has to be joining this board, which I'm positive will give you lots of support and inspiration. Looking forward to following your progress and reading about how good you feel again. Post lots and ask any questions you want... we're here to help.

| Good morning! Thank you for all your warm posts, the support is wonderful!! I made it through day one, and I already feel so much better. I had a bit of 'induction flu' yesterday, but my best friend came over and we went for a golf cart ride and then I cooked a low-carb dinner and she loved it!! I made Cheesy Hamburger and Broccoli casserole, it was so good! I went to Linda's Low Carb website and printed a bunch of yummy stuff out so I won't get bored with my food choices. Today I am going to buy some chicken so it can cook in my crock pot while I am at school tomorrow. I plan on having salad with the chicken. I had forgotten how good this WOL tastes! Thanks, and have a great day. |

| I am glad you are back on and feeling good about it. All I can say is you sometimes have to offend people to stay on track and I do not worry about hurting peoples feelings anymore, I explain why I cannot eat it and find something acceptable and that is it. I had to tell my son NO, that before he and his wife and kids move to NY next month that his dad will not be making the family tacos, it would not be fair because he cannot eat them and neither can I. I am sure he is disapointed but I told him, do you want your dad and I to lose weight or not, there is no way he can make them and not eat them. I know he is disapointed, but I held my ground. Our health is the most important thing and that is all you have to tell someone next time, you can be very nice, but just be firm, you found out how easily it all gets out of control , and it is not worth it !! I am glad you are back on plan and here on the board it is the best tool in the world to do this, you get so much support here !! Once you are through day two today, life will feel much better , lol !! You are doing great !!! Stephie |

| Thank you so much! All the support is wonderful. I can say I have made it through day two (even though it is not over, I know I will not cheat). I just put some raw chicken in the crock pot (in the fridge) so I can turn it on tomorrow before I leave for school. When I get home, I will have yummy chicken waiting for me, and there are veggies in the fridge calling my name! I do not yet have a 'formal' exercise routine, but I have been cleaning house, I parked way back at the grocery store, and have kept very busy. I am a single mom and full time student, so I will stay as active as possible and fit exercise in as I can. My 15 year old son is on the football team, and an avid runner and exerciser. He is away at camp until Saturday, but I can't wait to tell him I am low-carbing again. He is always on me to be healthier, be more active. He will keep me moving, I am sure! |
