| It depends on how true you are to yourself and how motivated you are as well. Whatever you get down just remember, it still is a victory. Oh and you may gain some muscle so you'll lose inches more than the weight. Stay focused and you'll do fine. First 3 days are the hardest, after that it's smooth sailing. Keep us posted. | I read your post and was thinking it sounded like something out of my diary (if I kept one). I started two weeks ago and my immediate motivation was that I am heading to the beach at the end of July and I've been procrastinating up until now about shrinking the waistline thinking I had all the time in the world to worry about it "later." Losing 40 pounds in 60 days on Atkin's isn't impossible, but I can tell you from past experience that if you're going in only thinking about a 60 day deadline with every intention of going back to your old eating habits on 8/23 then you're already setting yourself up to fail. I realized that for myself about 12 days ago, and am now trying to figure out how to stay low carb DURING my time at the beach. I'm also getting in good with the ADBB crowd so that they can harass me when I return from the beach and have no other immediate reasons to continue towards my goal! Hopefully over the next 8 weeks, you can work on changing your "get thin quick" mindset to a "wanna be healthy for good" attitude. In the long run you (and I) will be much better off!

| Hello- You can lose 20+ lbs. by then if you are strict, and as Eric said you need to take a longer view as well. In both cases, you will feel better and be healthier. Welcome and good luck. Glenn
