| You can do a search and find about a bajillion topics on caffeine here. The long and the short of it is this: Dr. Atkins said so. The reason? Because caffeine has been clinically shown to cause blood sugar spikes *and* it's an addictive drug. You've removed 6 of the 60lbs in 6 days and you were hoping for more?!! LOL What on earth were you hoping for? You've removed 10% of your goal in a lousy 6 days!! That's the amount you could have reasonably expected to remove in a full, very clean and strict 14 day induction. I'd say you're WAY ahead of schedule. You should be THRILLED at that!! Congrats on your success so far and welcome to ADBB!

| Welcome, I drink 2 pots or more of coffee each and every day. And I am successfully losing weight. So I honestly dont know why caffeine is so bad for you. Maybe it's just another excuse someone came up with as to why they werent losing and the slogan stayed. I gave up everything else, however waking up at 4 am daily, the coffee must stay. God Bless, Joe |

| Hello: I am not an expert of course, but I am sure I read that the reason why we should not consume caffeine is because it will make you crave for carbs. I will also like to know if that is the real reason. I drink tea at night and I do not crave for carbs, so it may be a different reason for us to avoid it. Quote: |

| Congratulations! WOW! 6 pounds! Yea! I am still on the caffeine. I think about quitting but haven't gotten up the courage to do so yet. It is my last addiction. I did see a thread from someone who’s weight loss stalled and after they cut the caffeine they started losing again. So there may be something to it. I personally have continued to lose weight even though I am drinking diet coke and tea. |

| Hello- Welcome and congrats! 6 lbs in 6 days ... is probably the best someone could do! I agree with what others have said about caffeine. You can try going without it for a few weeks and see what happens, then go back and see. I dropped caffeine a couple weeks ago. Glenn
