Default Old Atkins user back to program

Hello, I'm an old Atkins "life styler" having lost 95 pounds on Atkins 10 years ago...but am back due to substantial weight gain. My problem is that I've completed induction and am moving on..I lost only 3 pounds on induction (I remember a LOT HIGHER weight lost last time around) but have gained that 3 pounds back in the past 2 days...I logged my eating - did not have any carbs (other than celery, green beans and zucchini) and am already frustrated. I'm determined to stick to it but it's a little dis-heartening....Thanks!

Hello and welcome!
Don't be discouraged. Weight is one metric, be sure to take your measurements since those will also show improvements.
Be sure to read the book and be strict about diet and exercise. You'll be on your way in no time.
Also something that helps the group to help you is to provide some data, such as about you, sample menus you are eating and sample exercise you are doing.

Coxy, I have done Atkins before, and experienced some of the same things you are going through this time. I lost about 3 on Induction where I lost 8-10 the first time. It is going to go slower this time and it won't be linear. You will probably bob up and down before each loss settles in.

Just remember it isn't a race. This is a new permanent lifestyle. It has taken me four months to lose 17 pounds. Age, hormones, previous diet history, all kinds of things play into the weight loss. Focus on keeping clean, weigh only once a week, and don't freak if the scale goes up. It will go down again. Hang in there. It will work.

There is no such thing as "just one bite".
Would an alcoholic say "just one sip"?
