<3Kes is on a distinguished road
Default In it to Win it!

Hi everyone,

My name is Kesley I'm 24 years old and I currently reside in sunny Seattle, WA (ha)! I'm new to the site, sort of...I've come to this site a couple of times browsed around and found all of you an inspiration. I'm sure you hear this everyday but it's true. Now, I've decided to become a member. It's time to stop snooping and become apart of this. I've finally gathered up the courage to start this and change my life.

I guess I've become fed up. Like most of you I've woken up and thought, I need a change in a BIG way. I'm 20 something and can't even enjoy it because I am constantly worried about my size or the way I look or what we all ask, "Does this make me look fat?" I'm tired of all of that. I'm tired of being worried about summer, in fear of what I must look like in a bathing suit. I want to enjoy my life in a body that I know I deserve! My goal is 135 which will take sometime, I'm currently 216. I would like to lose a significant amount by my birthday which is October 25th. Not my goal but definitely in what you all call "Onederland"!

I've noticed several of you posting your mini goals, I think I might try that route. But I'm curious to know if setting mini goals help. And when you do, do you get discouraged if you don't meet a goal? Where do you find the strength to press on? I know it will take sometime to reach my goal and I'm ready to wait but what is the average one loses a month? Or during Induction. Does exercise induce the amount you lose during the induction phase or the whole process? I've read the book several times and know that exercise is extremely important and plan on becoming active and what not but I wanted to know someone who has gone through it first hand. One of my goals through this whole process is to run a half marathon held here in Seattle in November. Those of you who have trained, what were the changes your body went through? Also did any of you go through knee problems during your training? Ahhh So many questions, I know, sorry!

Anyway, I'm excited for the days, weeks, months, and years to come. I'm in it to win it! I hope for the support and guidance that you all have given others. I hope to hear from you all soon.
I hope you have an amazing day!!!!

<3Kes

Kelsey-
Glad you joined and by what you write I am sure you will be successful.
The exercise is huge. Get into it and you will soon feel better.
Set goals. If they become hard to meet, try hard to meet them, and re-set once you get there if you can't make it. There are guidelines as you have read, but it is an individual thing. It will be a learning process. RE: Knees, I biked and lost a bunch before running for many reasons.
My goal date is close to yours - Nov. 3 - see you in Onederland.
Glenn

hi 3kes welcome, i also have a mini goal of losing as much as i can by Ocotber 25th - my oldest son is getting married that day, and i just want to feel and look as good as i can on that day.. however, every pound lost adds up to the total.. so no matter how much you inch towards your goal it all adds up.. you can set 10 lbs goals or actual weight goals (one of mine is just to get below 200) anything that will help/motivate you... i find great motivation here, ask questions, read everything, you can do it
