| Hi Theresa, Don't listen to what your boyfriend has to say, I agree with Liz..."no one can force you to do anything whether fail or succeed". You boyfriend is in a pretty low point in his life by the sounds of it and is striking out at the person he is closest too. That doesn't make it right because what he said was inappropriate and not showing kindness for someone who is suppose to be the love of his life. The fact is, when people say things that are hurtful or not supportive it's because they're generally pretty unhappy with themselves. I think your boyfriend is frustrated with himself and has taken his frustration out on you. Having said that, please don't listen to his negativity.....you can do this and you will succeed as long as you put the effort into it and stay focused. Don't listen to any sort of negative talk regarding what you're doing whether it come from someone else or negative self talk. You just hang in there girl and do what you need to do to get healthy...it's exciting that you're doing Atkins and you're the one that will reap the benefits of your determination and hard work in short order! Regarding your boyfriend, I truly hope he is able to come to terms with the work he has to put into himself and bring himself to do it. I'm sorry he's going through what he is, I have a great deal of weight to lose and I know it's not easy, there is no easy way to do it. It takes time, dedication and perseverance. I hope he finds peace within himself and the strength to get past the place he is in both emotionally and physically. Keep it up the great work! Sarina |
