Question New to board, second timer, have a question

Hello all fellow atkineers!! another sugar free glorious day

I was on atkins a few years ago, lost 40lbs in two months, kept it off for a year and then the slow carb creep caught up with me

No crying over spilled milk, good thing is, I'm back with a vengence

I do have a question I remember I use to make pistacio bark and it was a staple for my occassional sweet tooth The recipe calls for semi-sweet chocolate and well, pistacios But I was in Publix last night and had this sense of being completely confused Semi-Sweet chocolate has sugar in it So I bought unsweetened baking chocolate, and if you have ever tried it, there is not enough splenda to fix that taste

So, if anyone can PLEASE explain to me if it is ok to use semi-sweet or not I would be ever so grateful

And btw..... I'm so happy to be here and thank you!!!!

Unfortunately, the chocolate is a huge glaring "not a chance" and the pistachios are also a no-go until you reach the nut rung of OWL. You might want to check around the recipe sections of the board to find induction legal foods to satisfy the savage sweet tooth.

Also, be sure to pick up and read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 Edition as it explains the eating rules for Induction, OWL and Pre-Maintenance along with the how and why Atkins works, knowing all of these is important for life long success.

That being said, welcome to the boards and all the best on your weight loss journey! If you need anything please feel free to give a shout.

Red face Re: New to board, second timer, have a question

That's what I thought! *sigh*

Darn, well thank you anyway!

I am having such a hard time finding something sweet that I like, I don't much care for cream cheese in foods , only plain.

I need something with CHOCOLATE !! Just a small nibble would be enough , at night!

Any idea's??

Some people argue that cocoa powder falls in under the list of spice in the Atkins book. Therefore a sprinkle of cocoa powder is possible on top of some whipped cream. Cocoa is a bean and when on rung 6 you can make chocolate bark with cocoa, splenda and coconut oil.
But it is better to kill that sweet tooth - it tends to send you tailspinning into trouble. When I redid my induction I stayed away from any thing sweet - including artificial sweeteners - it is only 14 days - after all. If it can help you kick a dependency that is just trouble, why not try it.
