Default Hi, new to Atkins

Hi everyone! I am new to Atkins and really to forums/support groups. I have been browsing and seeing all the insperational success stories and really excited.

Recently, I was denied life insurance through my company because of being "morbidly obese". Seeing those words in black and white is my motivator.

I look forward to learning more. I plan on measuring this weekend and putting my current in my signature.

Welcome to ADBB! I'm glad you've found us.

First, I just want to make sure that you check out the "sticky" at the top of the forum page... lots of good info in there. Take some time to explore all that this board has to offer - it ROCKS!

I also noticed that our staring stats are similar, so I want to assure you that you can do this! Post often, OK? Good luck!

Congratulations on making the great (& sometimes difficult) decision to change your lifestyle and become healthy!!! I am shorter than you and weigh more and now reading what you wrote am glad there was not a medical exam required w/ my life insurance *phew*

Welcome and Good Luck! Post often and stick with the rules the way Dr A put them in the 2002 version of the book & you will succeed! Have you read the book yet?

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I have not read the book yet. I have been researching Atkins.com. I plan on purchasing the book from half price (love that store) this weekend. In the meantime, I am following the acceptable food list for phase 1. Lots of homework for me this weekend!
