| Greetings, Mazu Welcome to ADBB! ![]() First, I just need to point out that this board is centered around the 2002 version of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, and that is what the information and advice here is based upon. This is also why that information will not match what is on the website for Atkins the company. While Dr. Atkins did allow for shakes in an emergency in the 2002 DANDR, they were never meant to be used on a consistent basis in the place of whole, fresh food. Atkins the company, their website, and all of their print advertising promote the bars and shakes to be used daily. (they are a very lucrative product for them) As each individual reacts differently to certain foods, you would need to test them for yourself to see how they affect you. I know from my own personal experience, and from the experience of many other members here (though not all), that they are a known staller. Here is a link to a "sticky" that I placed at the top of this forum that contains lots of good information that may answer some of your questions. If you are NEW, READ THIS! Best wishes to you!
