Default New here, not new to the diet...

Hi everyone. My name is Phil and I'm 23 - live in Beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

I'm currently on my 3rd day of induction - I'm not new to this because I did it back in 2005... All throughout my teen years I was an overweight kid - my heaviest weight at 20 was 280lbs. I was blissfully unaware of the fact I was overweight until I had a rude awakening - which I'd like to keep private. It made me realize though, that I needed to do something.

Anyhow, on the Atkins diet and thanks to a high stress retail job I got to 180lbs. My stretch marks faded to skin colour, I went from 42 size pants to 34, XL shirts to M... I wasn't at my goal but I was finally happy with myself and how I looked.

Last year I got a job as a customer service representative... I basically manage accounts for users on a popular website. Anyhow, with a mixture of working graves, an irregular schedule, and next to no activity - my eating habits slipped and I gained 50lbs over the year I've worked there.

Now since my all my shirts fit too snug to be worn and now that I only have 1 pair of jeans that fit, I'm going back to the low-carb lifestyle.

I'm not looking to be skinny, I'm looking to become healthy again, more active like I was, and happier.

Like I said earlier, I'm on my third day of induction... and I'm going through the "crazy symptom" phase, as I like to call it. I haven't moved a muscle but I have the sweats, but I'm super cold - aches and pains, and a slight headache. <- my body right now (i had to find a reason to use that! hah)

I joined these forums to be motivated, to gather tips and discuss progression and this lifestyle with others who are going through it. The first time I was on the Atkin's Diet, my best friend went on it with me. This time around, he decided to sit this one out, so I'm pretty much on my own with support.

My goal is to lose at least 15lbs during induction, then 3-5lbs every week until I hit 180 again. Wish me luck =)

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes =)

Today was a rough day, I'm getting major headaches and I had a really nasty nosebleed at work today. I'm still doing good though, I actually did really well today food-wise. Since it's Friday, everyone ordered in Pizza for lunch and I didn't touch any of it!!

Welcome! I just have to say that anyone that can lose weight while doing customer service has my kudos! I worked customer service for years at a drug wholesale company. Any idea how grumpy a pharmacist can be? OMG.. I've been out of the business for about 5 years now and I still cringe when the phone rings and REALLY hate to even have one in the house.. Anyway, you have my respect! Cheers to you and your potential success!.... (customer service, <shudder><twitch, twitch>)

The customer service I do is really not customer service per say, but I still am under that title. Thank god I don't have to talk or interact with customers though!! I just manage their accounts "behind the scenes." If a customer calls in asking what's up, there's someone else on the line with them while I'm in the background doing the majority of the work. I'm more of an 'account specialist' than a customer service rep. That's probably why I keep sane at my job.

Though, losing weight is so difficult at my job. Everyone left right and center offers food to everyone... it's hard!! Though, I let everyone know I'm on a low-carb diet and my co-workers have been really good about it, so if I stumble and eat something I shouldn't it would just be my fault. =)

Nice analysis and work on your self! You know what you're doing.

I had 2007 clothes not fitting me a few months ago so I know how depressing that is. But they are fitting fine now due to Atkins' diet and exercise. You will be there in no time!

To help feel better, drink lots of water and do walks or some other exercise. Get plenty of sleep also, plan for more sleep.
